The cabal is leftist in ideology. Most on the left are just useful idiots for them, but they are leftist themselves. Leftist ideology leads to more gov't power and eroded or eliminated rights and liberties = easier control of the people.
There are many flavors of leftism, including fascism, communism and American progressivism (and I would argue also corporatism, which in no way is capitalism)
