Iran's Zarif calls on neighbours to cooperate following Trump's defeat
CAIRO (Reuters) - Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called on his country’s neighbours to cooperate in achieving common interests, following U.S President Donald Trump’s defeat in the presidential election.
“Trump is gone, and we and our neighbours will stay. Betting on foreigners does not bring security, and disappoints.We extend our hands to our neighbours to cooperate in achieving the common interests of our peoples and countries. We call on everyone to embrace dialogue as the only way to end differences and tensions. Together to build a better future for our region,” Zarif Tweeted in Arabic late on Sunday.

One dead in hit-and-run accident on Route 17 south in Wood-RidgeA motorist struck and killed a pedestrian in front of a Wood-Ridge banquet hall on Saturday night, then fled on Route 17, according to authorities.
The pedestrian, an unidentified 20-year-old man from Roxbury, Massachusetts, died near The Fiesta, a popular wedding venue perched along the highway's southbound lanes, said Liz Rebein, a spokeswoman for the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Authorities found the car that hit the man, but they had not filed criminal charges as of Sunday morning, said Chief of Detectives Robert Anzilotti of the Prosecutor's Office.
"A number of people were in the car," he said. "We are still investigating who the driver was."
The prosecutor's Fatal Accident Investigation Unit, the Wood-Ridge Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff's Office are investigating the death, Rebein said Sunday afternoon.
The man was struck at about 9:58 p.m., Rebein said. The highway's southbound lanes remained closed until about 4 a.m., police said.
