As a supervisor, here is why Trans people are a burden to the military.
Member arrives after 6 weeks of basic training, followed by 9 months of technical training. Add another year hands on work to qualify to work on aircraft w/out supervision (5-lvl).
Now, 2 years has passed, they are finally useful/productive member and "poof" one day they vanish.
Ultimately, I find out they went to mental health, and now they are "transitioning" so they have been pulled from their duty position because they are "stressed". some people call it having a job.
So, for the next two years, they take a cake desk job from a deserving soldier who could have used a break but here is the best part…
You don't get a replacement for that soldier because they are still at your base. Leadership made a decision/choice to coddle them.
Lastly, 2 more years will pass, they will walk out of the military service, never having actually served and get a medical disability rating so they can continue their transition…
I had two soldiers do this to me w/in months of each other. The first was probably legitimate, the second I still believe saw the genius of getting a cake desk job w/benefits to follow.
It's total B.S. scam.
