Joe Biden Implores Americans to Wear a Mask: ‘Election Is Over’

Former Vice President Joe Biden urged Americans at a press conference in Wilmington, Delaware, on Monday to put aside political differences now that the 2020 “election is over.” He also told them to “wear a mask” to prevent further spreading of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Biden, whom multiple media outlets have declared president-elect though President Trump is challenging the results, announced members of his coronavirus advisory task force during the presser. At its conclusion, the former vice president took a moment to address what he saw as the “politicization of basic responsible public health steps, like mask-wearing and social distancing.”

“The election is over. … I won’t be president until January 20, but my message today is to everyone,” Biden told those in attendance. “It doesn’t matter who you voted … we can save tens of thousands of lives if everyone would just wear a mask for the next few months.”

“Not Democrat or Republican lives, but American lives,” Biden added.

He proceeded to argue that “the goal of mask-wearing is not to make your life less comfortable or take something away from you,” but rather a way to get “back to normal as fast as possible.”

“Please, I implore you: wear a mask. Do it for yourself. Do it for your neighbor,” Biden said. “A mask is not a political statement, but it is a good way to start pulling the country together.”

The comments come one day after NBC News reported the former vice president was planning, upon taking office next year, to call on state and local officials to issue mask mandates nationwide. An aide for the Biden campaign told the outlet that if some elected officials, such as governors, refuse the call, the pressure will fall on local leaders.

“If a governor declines, he’ll go to the mayors in the state and ask them to lead,” the aide told NBC. “In many states, there is the capacity of mayors to institute mandates.”

For much of the 2020 cycle, Biden was forced to walk a tight rope on the issue of national mask mandates. Initially, during the summer, he repeatedly called for the federal government to institute a nationwide order requiring every citizen to don a mask in public.

As public attitudes towards the virus became normalized and questions arose over the constitutionality of such a mandate, Biden began backing away from the issue slightly. This was evidenced in September when the former vice president told a local CBS affiliate in Arizona that federal mask requirements likely went beyond the constraints of presidential authority.

Trump’s Legal Battle: Constitutional vs the Political Arguments Explained

According to Time Magazine, “Joe Biden won the presidential election on Saturday after the Associated Press called him the winner.” But can the mainstream media really ‘call’ the winner of US elections?

In the meantime, President Trump has filed roughly 12 lawsuits in both the state and federal courts, with various interventions, including the halting of vote-counting in order to ascertain the legitimacy of late ballots, and to disqualify tranches of possibly illegal ballots. Lawsuits have been filed in states including (by not limited to) Pennsylvania, Nevada, Georgia, and Michigan — all states where Biden’s achieved a mysterious and miraculous comeback late in the evening of the election, and where his margin of victory was very slim, and also states where a recount is likely.

“The Democrats seem to want to vote earlier and earlier, and count later and later,” said Mark Levin.

In this episode of Life Liberty and Levin, host Mark Levin speaks with guest Ken Starr and Hans von Spakovsky, about the current controversy over ballot counting in key swing states. Watch:

Catholic Exorcist Fr. Chad Ripperger Calls on Faithful to Recite Prayer to Bind the Evil Spirits and Satanic Forces Until Election Oddities are Resolved

Father Chad Ripperger is a respected exorcist in the Catholic Church.

The good Father is asking Christians to recite this prayer in our ongoing battle against evil and the evil one.

We are truly in a battle between goodness and truth and the horrors of Satan’s lies.

There is a concerted effort by powerful forces to lord over us all.

Please recite this prayer against the enemy of truth.

Pray for God’s intercession.

Via The Catholic Monitor:

Prayer of Command

In His Name and by the power of His Cross and Blood, I ask Jesus to bind any evil spirits, forces and powers of the earth, air, fire, or water, of the netherworld and the satanic forces of nature. By the power of the Holy Spirit and by His authority, I ask Jesus Christ to break any curses, hexes, or spells and send them back to where they came from, if it be His Holy Will. I beseech Thee Lord Jesus to protect us by pouring Thy Precious Blood on us (my family, etc.), which Thou hast shed for us and I ask Thee to command that any departing spirits leave quietly, without disturbance, and go straight to Thy Cross to dispose of as Thou sees fit. I ask Thee to bind any demonic interaction, interplay, or communications. I place N. (Person, place or thing) under the protection of the Blood of Jesus Christ which He shed for us.

Amen

Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church as well as the Triumph of the Kingdom of the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary

On Nov. 9, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Beijing tweeted that the U.S. urges partner countries to resist China’s foreign intervention: The Chinese Communist Party is threatening free and open societies with its activities.

As soon as the evidence of Biden’s manipulation of the election was revealed, the U.S. embassy and consulates in China tweeted to partner countries, and the picture used, 1949-2020, signaled that the Communist Party’s rule would finally be 2020, announcing the beginning of the global extermination of the Chinese Communist Party. CCP, you are done!

5 Reasons Conservatives Should Have Hope For The Future

We might be in an Obi-Wan Kenobi moment, wherein striking Trump down will make his movement more powerful than anyone can possibly imagine.

If Joe Biden walks away with a presidential victory, conservatives will have many reasons to despair. This would portend some terrifying realities about propaganda and the manipulation of public opinion, the acceptance of potential fraud, and the willingness to accept the curtailment of basic liberties.

But it need not. In fact, conservatives have reason to be quite hopeful. We might be in an Obi-Wan Kenobi moment, wherein striking Trump down will make his movement more powerful than anyone can possibly imagine. Beyond the typical takes on the election that give conservatives hope — we appear to have kept the Senate, and socialism and critical race theory lost — we have five long-term reasons to be hopeful.

  1. Final Liberation from Establishment Republicans

At some level, the left has to be jealous. For any chance of defeating Donald Trump, look what they had to settle for: a dementia-addled, 78-year-old fossil who’s spent 47 years in the Senate as a pandering politician straight out of Central Casting. But the Democrat establishment pushed him because he polled best against Trump and, as Democrats are so quick to remind us, “science and data.”

Ah, I remember those days. I remember hearing the smart set tell us how a Herman Cain would be an abject failure as a candidate or president, so we’d better go with a traditional politician, such as John McCain, Mitt Romney, and Jeb Bush.

Then came Trump, dismantling the entire paradigm. One of the most beloved politicians in our history, he showed us how a successful American with a love for his country can do great things, things politicians have been promising for years, such as lowering unemployment for minorities, increasing wages for the working class, sticking it to communist China, creating peace in the Middle East, giving us energy independence, restructuring bad trade deals, withdrawing from foreign entanglements, and revolutionizing the federal judiciary.

Meanwhile, the Democrats get to watch a doddering hack grapple with the wily Sen. Mitch McConnell for four years, while trying to pick up the pieces of an economy they tanked to get Biden elected president and nothing else. Or maybe they’re looking forward to a President Kamala Harris doing her “Excuse me! Excuse me!” routine like that vice principal you mocked in high school.

You almost have to laugh. While they’re locked into “establishment mode” for four years, pantomiming gravitas with their whole “adults in the room” schtick to impress the seven remaining people watching CNN, the right will be having a blast retaking the House, nurturing a new generation of Trump-like candidates, and choosing another unconventional leader for president in 2024 that we actually like and don’t have to hold our noses to select. We’re done with the establishment, and it feels so liberating.

D.C. Officials Ask Businesses to Take Down Boards

City officials claim 'no credible threats of violence' despite planned protests

Washington, D.C., officials are asking shopkeepers to remove plywood boards protecting their stores, claiming that "no credible threats of violence" exist despite left-wing groups' planned post-election demonstrations.

Businesses and government agencies in the nation's capital, dozens of which were damaged during anti-police protests this summer, boarded up windows and entryways in preparation for potentially violent post-election protests.

On Saturday, the Associated Press declared Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden the election's winner, leading D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser's (D.) administration to make the request.

According to Christopher Rodriguez, director of the district's Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency, business owners should not be fearful of another wave of rioting or looting.

"Our suggestion and our ask of the businesses is that, given our threat environment, that they should take down all the boards or cardboard that has been put up there," Rodriguez said.

City officials also maintained that businesses should not be fearful of any riots or protests during election week—despite planned demonstrations. Local anti-police activist group #ShutDownDC planned to gather at Black Lives Matter Plaza, target Trump campaign officials, White House staffers, and Republican lawmakers, and, based on the vote count, block roads, highways, and intersections leading into the city.

Dozens of D.C. businesses, monuments, and memorials were vandalized in anti-police protests this summer, leading business owners to exercise caution during a hotly contested presidential election. While widespread outbreaks of rioting and looting have not yet occurred as a result of the election, three people were stabbed outside of the White House on election night.

China Works to Expand Influence in Caribbean

China seeks to expand its influence in the Caribbean through offering foreign aid and government loans to developing nations, the New York Times reported Sunday.

By backing countries such as Jamaica and Cuba, Beijing hopes to leverage its regional influence to gain support for China’s geopolitical aims.

"There are a lot of reinforcing reasons that go beyond balance sheets," Robert Ellis, research professor of Latin American studies at the U.S. Army War College’s Strategic Studies Institute, told the New York Times. "China understands intuitively the strategic importance of that space."

Though Caribbean countries represent relatively smaller markets, they are of major strategic importance due to their close proximity to the United States. The Caribbean is also on China's radar because many of the countries that recognize Taiwan’s sovereignty are located in the region.

"China’s objective is to gradually eliminate the recognition of Taiwan," Richard Bernal, former Jamaican ambassador to the United States, told the New York Times.

Beijing also hopes for assistance from Caribbean countries in multilateral organizations. China has capitalized on influence gained through foreign investments, such as the Belt and Road Initiative, to gain control of United Nations agencies.

China's efforts to make inroads in the Caribbean have already paid dividends. Beijing declared its intention in September to seek a "permanent friendship" with Cuba. This week, Cuba followed the lead of the Chinese mission to the United Nations in calling for an end to "white supremacy" and "institutional racism" in the United States, among other talking points often used by the American far left.

These efforts occur in a larger context of significant investment in the region from China. Over the last 15 years, Chinese investment in the Caribbean in the form of low-interest government loans totals over $6 billion, and that number rises by $62 billion when including Beijing’s support for Venezuela's failing oil industry. While Washington still outpaces Beijing in Caribbean investment by a significant margin, the current status of American foreign-aid programs is a matter of some concern.

Last week, the White House ousted Bonnie Glick from her position as deputy administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development before she was set to inherit control of the agency from the outgoing acting administrator. Glick was known for her efforts to curb China’s growing influence in developing countries.

SoftBank Says H1 Net Profit Surges More Than Four-fold To $18 Bn

Japan's SoftBank Group said Monday its first-half net profit more than quadrupled, sealing a strong recovery after a massive annual loss, as tech stocks rally and the firm sheds assets to shore up its finances.

Net profit for the six months to September came to 1.88 trillion yen ($18 billion), up from 421.6 billion yen a year earlier, the conglomerate said.

The profit surge was mainly driven by gains on its investments, which topped two trillion yen for the period.

However, it said it would not offer a forecast "as it is difficult to foresee consolidated results due to numerous uncertain factors".

SoftBank reported a nearly $9 billion net loss in the previous full fiscal year, but quickly returned to the black in the first quarter.

Masahiko Ishino, an analyst at Tokai Tokyo Research Institute, said the firm had displayed "a steady performance" in line with robust gains in the global equities markets.

Founder Masayoshi Son has transformed the telecoms company into an investment and tech behemoth with stakes in some of Silicon Valley's hottest start-ups through its $100 billion Vision Fund.

He has battled opposition to his strategy of pouring money into start-ups including troubled office-sharing firm WeWork which some analysts say are overvalued and lack clear profit models.

Son has insisted his strategy is sound, and that SoftBank's portfolio is broad enough to weather the storm.

"There were people who concluded that the Vision Fund was over" because of WeWork, Son told reporters on Monday. "No way! It only started."

He said the company will now focus on the "AI revolution" and will invest in listed companies, which he called the "real contenders" in the artificial intelligence sector.

The firm said its SoftBank Vision Fund saw strong results thanks to recovering stock markets and increases in portfolio firms where "exits have been decided or have new funding rounds, or (which) are benefiting from the accelerated adoption of digital services during the COVID-19 crisis".

The results come after SoftBank launched an aggressive plan to sell up to $41 billion in assets to finance a stock buy-back and reduce its debt.

Jason Miller: 'Concede' Is 'Not Even in Our Vocabulary'

The word "concede" isn't even in the vocabulary for President Donald Trump and his 2020 campaign, which vows to continue pushing for answers concerning alleged actions in many states after Joe Biden was deemed as the president-elect by several media outlets over the weekend, Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller said Monday.

He also told Fox Business' Maria Bartiromo that the growing lawsuits over the election results are about more than just Trump, but are about the "entire future of elections in America."

"This is about election integrity," he said. "If we can't get this right, why think we will ever have confidence in these elections going forward."

Miller added that the election will likely be heading to automatic recounts in Arizona and Georgia, and potentially in Wisconsin, once it is finished with its canvassing. As far as lawsuits are concerned, Miller said he expects legal action in Pennsylvania and most likely in Michigan, and potentially other states as well.

"We filed a lawsuit in Arizona on Saturday night, and this will be going through everything from dead people voting to instances where there was backdating of mail-in ballots," said Miller.

Miller said the campaign believes it has seen enough irregularities in the election that legal action is warranted, particularly in Pennsylvania.

Trump had a big lead initially Tuesday, only to see that evaporate "as new ballots were found," said Miller, pointing out that in Pennsylvania, "Democrats were rushing to get this done and not to allow us to observe the counting."

He also noted that in the 2000 and 2016 races, the media encouraged Al Gore and Hillary Clinton to pursue legal remedies, but in Trump's case, the media want such actions to "go away."

"That is not going to happen," said Miler. "We are going to pursue every we have in front of us. We are going to make sure the American public has full confidence in these elections … we are going through all these, so when the Electoral College gets together to certify this election, the American people can have full confidence in its outcome."

Zimbabwe NGO: Mnangagwa’s Rights Violations Worse than Mugabe’s

The Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum published a report on Friday in which it claimed that human rights violations in the country under current President Emmerson Mnangagwa are worse than those carried out under former Zimbabwean dictator Robert Mugabe.

The human rights forum is a union of 21 rights-based NGOs in Zimbabwe. The Forum’s report cited human rights violations “recorded between April and September this year when the country was under strict Covid-19 [Chinese coronavirus] lockdown restrictions,” New Zimbabwe noted on Friday.

“The [government’s] promises of a ‘new dispensation’ have disappeared, and the patterns of misgovernance and human rights abuse that characterized Zimbabwe under Robert Mugabe’s rule have re-emerged,” the Forum stated in its report. These abuses have worsened since Mugabe left office in 2017, the group asserted, adding that “some of these violations can be characterized as crimes against humanity.”

“Mugabe’s regime saw the slaughter of an estimated 20,000 citizens in Matabeleland and Midlands provinces in the early 1980s and Operation Murambatsvina in 2005, among other difficult post-independence periods,” New Zimbabwe recalled.

The newspaper noted that the recent human rights violations in Zimbabwe have occurred “within the context of Covid-19 [Chinese coronavirus], deepening poverty, and widespread hunger for the majority of Zimbabweans, and massive corruption that is bleeding the country of critical resources needed for the protection of its citizens.”

The Forum condemned what it referred to as “the use of coercion on dissenting voices” in Zimbabwe. “The evident fragility of the country cannot be managed by the resort to coercion and rule by presidential decree,” the human rights group argued in its report.

“Constitutionalism and the rule of law have been replaced by coercion and decree [in Zimbabwe],” according to the Forum.

“Zimbabwe is receiving increased pressure from the international community for reform, even concern from SADC [Southern African Development Community] countries and the African Union, in order to arrest the slide from fragile to failed state [sic],” the group revealed, adding “something must be done with urgency.”

“The call for urgent action by the Forum comes only a day after opposition MDC Alliance deputy national chairperson, Job Sikhala appealed to the United Nations (UN) Security Council to immediately consider military intervention due to the political, economic and humanitarian crisis in the country,” New Zimbabwe reported.

'Canberra is full of spies'

Turnbull's warning to MP at centre of explosive report

Former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says he would have "asked further questions" before appointing Christian Porter as attorney-general had he known of allegations of his behaviour that were aired last night by the ABC.

A Four Corners investigation discussed concerns in Canberra over the alleged behaviour of Mr Porter and fellow senior Coalition minister Alan Tudge.

Mr Porter, in a statement scathing of the Four Corners report, said: "Given the defamatory nature of many of the claims made in tonight's programme, I will be considering legal options."

Mr Turnbull told the program that while he was prime minister he had cautioned Mr Porter about his behaviour.

"I'd heard reports of him being out in public having had too much to drink in the company of young women," Mr Turnbull told Four Corners.

"I reminded him that Canberra was full of spies. Not all of them worked for us."

On Q+A last night, Mr Turnbull was asked about his decision to promote Mr Porter to the senior role given his warning.

Mr Turnbull said that if he had been aware of information revealed in the Four Corners program, he would have "asked further questions" before appointing Mr Porter attorney-general.

"There's a lot of stuff about Christian Porter in that program that I did not know at the time. And frankly, I didn't know until tonight," Mr Turnbull said.
