With just hours until the polls open Tuesday morning, the main goal for the presidential candidates is winning Pennsylvania.

The Trump and Biden campaigns made multiple stops in the Keystone State on Monday as they compete for the state's 20 electoral votes.

Political analyst Dr. Terry Madonna said Pennsylvania is the most visited state by far.

"Pennsylvania is now referred to by most experts as the tipping point, meaning if you win Pennsylvania, you're going to carry enough other states to get the 270 electoral votes," Madonna said.

Polls are showing Joe Biden leading by an average of four points, and President Donald Trump is trying to prove those polls wrong.

"Four years ago, there was much more volatility in the polls. These are very, very consistent," Madonna said.

Democratic voters are returning mail-in ballots at a higher rate than Republicans. GOP voters are expected to turn out in greater numbers at the polls.

Asked whether Republicans can make up the difference by voting in person, Madonna answered, "That's the key, and we're going to have to obviously wait and find out. The Trump campaign is working very hard on getting that turnout on Election Day."

If the race is as close as it was in 2016, we may not know the winner of Pennsylvania on election night.
