Being on this site has been wiping out the wifi in the whole house.

Any organization with a hierarchical structure is ripe for corruption. The temptations of power will draw those who least deserve to wield it.
Not just the Vatican. Mega-churches and any other that grows to any appreciable size are the same kind of trap.
Wherever there is power to be had the vampires will be drawn to it.
