Trump’s Director of Election Day Operations Tweets Photo of Republican Poll Watchers on ‘NO ENTRY’ List in Philly

The Trump campaign’s director of election day operations has tweeted a photo of a list of Republican poll watchers on a “no entry” list in Philadelphia.

Included on the list was Corey Lewandowski, a senior advisor to the campaign, who was denied entry.

“Look at this. I was DENIED access even with a court order. What are they hiding in Philly. Election Fraud,” Lewandowski tweeted in response to the photo shared by Mike Roman.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that “Trump’s campaign filed a federal lawsuit Monday seeking to stop elections boards and the state from certifying results that were tabulated while its watchers couldn’t observe.”

“They were completely in the dark, completely unable to oversee the vote count, as was their legal right,” Kayleigh McEnany, an adviser for Trump’s campaign and the White House press secretary, said while explaining that poll watchers who were legally permitted to observe the count were blocked and put behind barriers.

Biden Says Trump Refusal To Concede Is "An Embarrassment", Releases List Of All Transition Teams

While president Trump mounts a full-blown legal challenge to the election results, during a Tuesday press conference, Joe Biden called Donald Trump’s refusal to concede the election "an embarrassment" and vowed to go push forward with the transition of power regardless of Republicans’ efforts to challenge the results.

“I just think it’s an embarrassment, quite frankly,” Biden told reporters in Wilmington, Delaware. “How can I say this tactfully? I think it will not help the president’s legacy.”

"I'm confident that the fact they're not willing to acknowledge we won at this point is not of much consequence in our planning and what we're able to do" Biden added.

Asked if he had something to say to Trump, Biden replied, "Mr. President, I look forward to speaking with you" adding that the failure of the administration to cooperate with his transition “does not change the dynamic at all of what we’re able to do."

One day after Mitch McConnell backed Trump's effort to challenge alleged improper votes, Biden also tried to pressure the Republicans into withdrawing their support for Trump: "I think that the whole Republican Party has been put in a position, with a few notable exceptions, of being mildly intimidated by the sitting president."

Taiwan Announces Military Exercises With U.S. Marines

Taiwan announced on Monday the arrival of U.S. Marines participating in joint exercises, marking the first public acknowledgment of military exercises with U.S. forces in over 40 years.

Amphibious joint exercises between U.S. Marine Raiders and the Taiwanese Marine Corps began in Taiwan this week and were described as "routine" by Taiwan’s Naval Command, the first admission of direct Taiwanese-American military cooperation since 1979, according to Newsweek. Taiwanese soldiers will receive a month of amphibious training under the U.S. Marines.

"In order to maintain regional peace and stability, routine security cooperation and exchanges between the militaries of Taiwan and the United States are proceeding as usual," the Taiwanese Navy said in a statement.

Oriana Skylar Mastro, China expert at the American Enterprise Institute, described the announcement from Taiwan as rare. "There has always been an element of training to the U.S.-Taiwan relationship, but boots on the ground is rare," she said. "And publicizing it is unheard of."

Since the normalization of relations between Beijing and Washington in 1979, neither the United States nor Taiwan have generally acknowledged joint military exercises between the two countries. The move comes during a time of concern over the prospect of a future invasion of Taiwan, as China escalates its public pressure campaign on the island country.

In response to escalation, the Trump administration has sent two senior diplomats to Taiwan in the past year and approved the sale of American rocket and missile systems to Taiwan.

Experts have expressed concern that efforts to secure Taiwan's defense could be upended by a potential Biden administration. Joe Biden and some of his key foreign policy advisers have a history of lukewarm support for the Taiwanese cause. In 2001, Biden wrote in an op-ed that committing to Taiwan's defense could "draw us into a war across the Taiwan Strait."

BLM Thug Pleads Guilty After Vicious Assault At Portland Protest Earlier This Year

Black Lives Matter thug Marquise Love has pleaded guilty to Third Degree Assault and Riot nearly three months after he brutally punted a motorists head into the pavement as part of a mostly peaceful protest in Portland. He will only serve 20 months in prison followed 3 years of probation.

Love, who was masquerading as some kind of self appointed “security guard”, ran up behind Adam Haner, who was already under attack from multiple thugs, and delivered a vicious kick to the side of Haner’s head, leaving him bloody and unconscious in the street. Of course the brave “police officers” from the Portland Police Bureau were nowhere to be seen, as they had been ordered to stand down and let the chaos play out, despite the incident taking place just a few blocks from police headquarters.

Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced that 26-year-old Marquise Love received a 20 month prison sentence after pleading guilty to assault in the third degree and felony riot.

The resolution of this case resulted after months of pretrial negotiations and a judicial settlement conference.

The victim, law enforcement, the court and the state are in agreement that the resolution of this case is appropriate.

By pleading guilty to one count of assault in the third degree and one count of felony riot, Love admitted that while being aided by another person, he caused physical injury to the victim and that he and others engaged in tumultuous and violent conduct and created a grave risk of causing public alarm.

Throughout the case, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office communicated with, listened to and involved the victim in the pretrial negotiations and subsequent resolution.

Although the victim did not attend today’s court hearing, in an interview with media on August 19, 2020, he said he is not seeking vengeance against Marquise Love and that he hoped Love would learn from what happened.

“The video of this assault is violent and shocking. It outraged our community and nation. We are fortunate that the victim’s injuries were not as severe as it first appeared they may have been,” said Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt. “In the days, weeks and months after this assault, detectives with the Portland Police Bureau worked quickly to identify the suspect and complete the investigation. This is a proper resolution. Marquise Love is accepting responsibility for his actions and the punishment.”

Marquise Love turned himself into the Portland Police Bureau on August 21, 2020 and remained in custody during the pendency of the case and agreed not to seek release or a bail reduction. Through his criminal defense attorneys, he expressed immediate regret and remained committed to resolving this case by cooperating with the investigation and prosecution.

Gynecologist Convicted of 52 Counts In Scheme to Perform Unnecessary Surgeries on Women

NORFOLK, Va. – A federal jury convicted a Chesapeake doctor today on 52 counts related to his scheme to bill private and governmental insurers millions of dollars for irreversible hysterectomies and other surgeries and procedures that were not medically necessary for his patients.

According to court records and evidence presented at trial, Dr. Javaid Perwaiz, an obstetrician-gynecologist who has practiced in Hampton Roads since the 1980s, executed a scheme to defraud health insurance programs between at least 2010 and 2019. During that period, Perwaiz billed private and governmental insurers millions of dollars for irreversible hysterectomies and other surgeries and procedures that were not medically necessary for his patients. In many instances, Perwaiz would falsely tell his patients that they needed the surgeries to avoid cancer in order to induce them to agree to the surgeries.

“Dr. Perwaiz preyed upon his trusting patients and committed horrible crimes to feed his greed,” said G. Zachary Terwilliger, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. “Dr. Perwaiz has a history of fraud including having his medical license and hospital privileges revoked. Nothing was going to stop him but the brave victims who testified against him and law enforcement. My thanks to the trial team for their outstanding work in what was a very complex case, and to our investigative partners for their efforts in helping bring Dr. Perwaiz to justice.”

The evidence at trial also demonstrated that Perwaiz falsified records for his obstetric patients so that he could induce their labor early, prior to the recommended gestational age that minimizes risk to the mother and baby, to ensure he would be able to conduct and be reimbursed for the deliveries. Perwaiz also violated the 30-day waiting period Medicaid requires for elective sterilizations by submitting backdated forms to falsely make it appear as if he had complied with the waiting period. Finally, Perwaiz billed insurance hundreds of thousands of dollars for diagnostic procedures that he only pretended to perform at his office.
