Hmmm…found this on above site. Now, why would allegedly non-partisan organizations preemptively call for lawyers as poll workers?

The Poll Worker, Esq. Initiative encourages lawyers, law students and other legal professionals to safely assist in the November election by serving as poll workers."

If I recall correctly, they shredded the envelopes. But the problem remains. The outer envelope contains the signature that must be matched. The vote is supposed to remain secret. If they actually shredded the ballots already, I imagine all sorts of laws about keeping them for a specific period of time come into play and you might as well admit fraud.
