I remember his video where he was apologizing to everyone. I wondered if he maybe got carried away teasing his info and had to go into witness protection, knowing that everyone would make a false martyr out of him, hence the apology.

 

Like, "Sorry, I was a jackass and I'm going to have to disappear while you guys believe I'm dead."

 

It all just felt like a poorly written plotline.

If you consider that Trump was expecting massive election fraud and had laid a trap for the deep state, putting off Durham until afterward makes perfect sense. Trump's disappointment probably was a bit of kayfabe.
