in 1906, the most advanced transportation was a horseless carriage that could go 15mph. fifty years later(1956) they built the first SR-71 blackbird, and the top speed and ceiling are STILL classified. since tech builds on tech, it should grow exponentially. so what have we gotten in the fifty years since? if you only knew how much tech has been suppressed by the DOD. there was a law passed in 1951 or 1952 giving gov't the authority to seize any patent it wanted to and suppress all public knowledge. and there are plenty of graves filled with people who tried to go public.
