I've been wondering about this. Knights of the Rose. If I remember correctly, when JFK was president, there was some of the rhetoric against him was that he was Catholic. Take a look at how many presidents have been catholic. Only like two I think. I think Nixon might have been another, I don't remember, but most have been protestant or something else.
No idea if there is any kind of connection though, it just seems….odd.
