Bill Gates Meets With Boris Johnson to Discuss Implementing ‘Global’ Vaccine Program

The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, currently being criticised for imposing another lockdown based on questionable data, has met with Bill Gates to discuss implementing a global “health security” program using Britain’s G7 presidency to speed up the process.

Johnson met with Gates along with the CEOs of ten of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical companies to foment plans to roll out the vaccine for coronavirus.

Every CEO agreed to commit to providing “fair” access across the globe to the vaccine when it is ready.

Johnson said that the opportunity the G7 presidency in 2021 affords Britain will allow the nation to spearhead a global health plan developed by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in partnership with the Wellcome Trust.

The plan was unveiled by Gates at the UN in September, where he called for overhauling big pharma’s capacity to manufacture “vaccines and treatments.”

Johnson hailed the effort as a “new era of collaboration for problem solving,” and “pandemic preparedness,” adding that it will be a “truly global endeavor”.

The Prime Minister said that world leaders should have heeded Gates’ warnings years ago, and must now work with his Foundation to prevent “something like [Covid-19] ever happening again.”

Gates noted that “the world needs a comprehensive strategy; a coherent approach to financing and manufacturing billions of doses of vaccines, tests and drugs; and a network to monitor for new threats.”

“We’re fortunate that Prime Minister Johnson has come up with a smart plan to do just that in the UK, and our foundation will continue to work with his government and others to make it a reality,” Gates added.

The British government is preparing to roll out the coronavirus vaccine on a level never before seen, drafting in the army to man vaccination centres at arenas, sports halls, and shopping malls.

It has been described as “the biggest logistical effort since the Second World War.”

Gates has previously declared that the world won’t return to normal until “a lot of people” take a second “super-effective” coronavirus vaccine that could be years away.

Last week, we Gates has forcast that a “best case scenario” for a return to normal would be the end of 2021, a date that was qualified with the proviso, “We still don’t know whether these vaccines will succeed.”

The billionaire has also suggested that governments need to ‘brainstorm’ ways of “reducing vaccine hesitancy,” in the face of anti-vaccine “conspiracy theories”.

The Presstitutes Speak With One Voice. They are unanimous that there was no vote fraud committed by Democrats and that a record number of Americans voted for a president suffering from mental confusion whose campaign rallies went unattended.

If there is no fraud, what is the basis of the legal challenges being filed by White House Counsel Giuliani? A former US Attorney who presided over high profile cases is not going to squander his reputation by filing legal challenges with no evidence.

There is plenty of evidence. The only question is whether the Republican Party and the courts have the stomach for the devastating blow to America’s reputation of proving that the Democrats with the complicity of the media stole a presidential election. The Republicans might be more inclined to protect America’s reputation than Trump’s presidency, and the courts could worry that establishing election theft would undermine Americans’ confidence in their system and lead to political instability.

Why US Election Votes Were Counted By Bankrupted Spanish Company Scytl

Days after it was revealed how 2020 US Elections were rigged by Canadian Crown Agent Dominion Voting Systems through a so-called “glitch”, now GreatGameIndia has found involvement of another dubious foreign company in US Election meddling. The votes cast by Americans were counted by a bankrupted Spanish company Scytl in Spain. Like Dominion Voting Systems, Scytl has a long history of election fraud in various nations including injecting backdoors in its election software. The issue has prompted experts to question why the sensitive job of counting votes was outsourced to a foreign company? How could a bankrupted Spanish company count American votes in Spain? Due to such widespread fraud, the Chairman of the US Federal Election Commission Trey Trainor believes that the 2020 US Presidential Elections is illegitimate.

Scytl involvement in 2020 US Election

Many American states commissioned a foreign company based in Spain to provide various election services — including online voting — in the 2020 presidential election. Scytl, a Spanish company headquartered in Barcelona offering a suite of election services, has been used by various states and cities in several ways since 2008.

Forbes reported in 2017:

Founded in 2001 in Spain, Scytl organized 12 state-wide implementations, and its technologies were used in another 980 U.S. jurisdictions in 28 states, during the 2016 General Election. Specializing in online voting and elections solutions, the company’s products include online voter registration services, poll worker management, and electronic ballot delivery.

Its online voting services employ end-to-end encryption, vote return cords, and a bulletin board audit service. Scytl’s customers include France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Green Party, the Parliament of the European Union and the Swiss Canton of Fribourg. In January 2012, the company bought SOE Software. Scytl also holds more than 40 patents and patent applications. In 2008, the company became the first online voting company to receive certification from the Florida Department of State.

Scytel’s website shares an overview of election services it provides to governmental clients in U.S.:

Scytl has successfully delivered election modernization projects in the US since 2008, and most recently for the 2018 Midterm Elections, when over 70M voters from more than 900 U.S. counties successfully leveraged Scytl’s technology. Scytl was declared Bankrupt in June 2020

What is interesting is that the Spanish firm Scytl was declared bankrupt in June this year. The company filed for bankruptcy as part of a broader analysis of security vulnerabilities associated with digital voting.

On 11 May 2020, facing debts of over 75 million euro, Scytl initiated bankruptcy proceedings with a view to sell its business to the U.S. investment fund Sandton Capital. On 2 June 2020, a Spanish court declared Scytl bankrupt and started the process of auctioning off its assets.

Scytl is funded by Spanish Government

Scytl has been the center of controversy in the past for misuse of European Union funds and mishap with an election. Scytl received large amounts of research funds from the Spanish government which, reporting by Republik shows, was used in ways contrary to what had been stipulated.

Instead of spending it on cooperative work with universities, Scytl used it to stock up its product team and develop new prototypes for its customers. An injection of over 1.5 million euros from Spain’s Ministry for Industry was, according to an internal document seen by Republik, used for, among other things, a «product demo» for Neuchâtel. And 900’000 euros in EU funds were spent on the development of software modules for Ecuadorian election authorities.

Cases of Scytl Voting Fraud

Scytl’s products cover the entire election process, including election planning, online voter registration, poll worker management, electronic ballot delivery, online voting, results consolidation and election night reporting. In 2014, Scytl reported having customers in more than 35 countries. However, Scytl is involved in controversies wherever its products or services were used with allegations as severe as election voting fraud.

House Democrats Warn Biden Against Hiring SecDef With Arms Industry Ties

Biden's top pick sits on the board of a defense firm and has a long history of pushing for US intervention around the world

Two progressive House Democrats penned a letter to Joe Biden, urging him not to appoint someone to the position of secretary of defense who has previously worked in the weapons industry. The letter was released Thursday by Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI).

“Respectfully, and in full agreement with your past statements, we write to request that the next secretary of defense have no prior employment history with a defense contractor,” the letter reads. The lawmakers used President Trump’s previous Pentagon chiefs as examples of the revolving door between the arms industry and Pentagon leaders.

Former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, who was fired this week, worked for Raytheon before joining the Trump administration. Patrick Shanahan, former acting secretary, worked for Boeing for over 30 years before joining the Pentagon as deputy secretary of defense in 2017. Trump’s first Pentagon chief, James Mattis, served on the board of General Dynamics.

“Additionally, nearly half of all senior Defense Department officials are connected to military contractors,” the lawmakers wrote. “Despite President Trump’s boast that he would ‘drain the swamp’ and hire ‘only the best people,’ he has continually failed to do so.”

Michele Flournoy is said to be the frontrunner for the position of secretary of defense in the Biden administration. Flournoy has deep ties with the arms industry and currently serves on the board of the defense firm Booz Allen Hamilton.

Flournoy worked in the Pentagon under the Clinton administration and the Obama administration. In 2007, Flournoy co-founded the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), a hawkish think tank that receives hefty contributions from weapons makers, major corporations, and the US government.

In 2016, Flournoy co-authored a CNAS report titled “Expanding American Power” with a group of hawks, including neoconservative Robert Kagan. The paper called for arms shipments to Ukraine, threats to Iran, increased military spending, and escalations in Syria and Iraq.

According to The New York Times, Jeh Johnson is also in the running to be Biden’s Pentagon chief. Johnson served as the secretary of homeland security from 2013 to 2017 and currently sits on the board of Lockheed Martin.

Russia grants Assad $1bn, opens trade mission in Damascus

Russia has pledged a total of $1 billion to the Syrian regime under President Bashar Al-Assad in order to support the building of the country's infrastructure and economy and has also decided to open a trade mission in the capital Damascus.

Moscow's support came amid the two-day conference on the return of Syrian refugees, which was held in Damascus yesterday and the day before, and to which a large Russian delegation was sent to represent the regime's key ally.

The grant was announced by Mikhail Mezentsev, the head of the Russian National Defence Management Centre, for the purpose of contributing towards Syria's reconstruction. He also said that Russian and Syrian officials were to sign eight memoranda of cooperation in the fields of energy, customs and educational activities as part of that contribution.

To ensure those agreements are properly facilitated and implemented, it was also announced that Russia would soon establish a trade office in Damascus.

The conference was attended by a number of countries including Iran, China, Venezuela, India, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Jordan, Lebanon, the UAE and Brazil – many of which do not hold a significant number of Syrian refugees. Meanwhile, countries which hold large numbers of the refugees such as Turkey and nations in the European Union refused to attend the conference.

2 Workers Dead, 1 Person Missing in VA Hospital Blast

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — An apparent steam pipe explosion Friday in a maintenance building at a Veterans Affairs hospital in Connecticut killed a VA employee and a contractor and left a third person missing, officials said.

VA Secretary Robert Wilkie said patient care was not affected by the blast on the West Haven campus of the VA Connecticut Healthcare System.

"Emergency personnel are on the scene,” Wilkie said in a statement said. “Our prayers are with the families of the victims of this explosion.”

Max Reiss, a spokesman for Gov. Ned Lamont, said a third person was missing.

West Haven firefighters described it as a “steam explosion” at a facilities building a short distance from the hospital, their union said in a Facebook post.

Gov. Ned Lamont, a Democrat, said state emergency management officials will provide as much aid as necessary to conduct an investigation. Early indications point to a steam pipe, he said.

"This is a heartbreaking tragedy, and I have instructed our state agencies to provide full resources as the response and investigation continues,” Lamont said.

One of the people who died was a VA employee and the other was a contractor, said U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Connecticut Democrat.

“This kind of explosion may have been the result of a mechanical failure or a mistake on the part of someone at the VA. We have no firm facts as yet," Blumenthal said.

The contractor who died worked for Mulvaney Mechanical, based in Danbury, Connecticut, said company Vice President Charles Brough. He said he did not have information about the work being done, and the company did not release the contractor's name.

The area of the campus where the blast happened was taped off by late Friday morning, but people were being allowed to enter and exit the main hospital building.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is looking into what happened, spokesperson Jim Lally said.

Trump Loses Pennsylvania Appeal Challenging Ballot Receipt Deadline

Just hours after Trump's law firm, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP, withdrew from a Pennsylvania case (under pressure from The Lincoln Project's cancel culture), and a just a day after the Trump campaign won a minor victory in the multifaceted post-election litigation ongoing in Pennsylvania (that illegally cast ballots must be thrown out), the PA Superior Court has denied a Republican lawsuit challenging the state's ballot receipt deadline.

The 3rd Circuit upheld a lower court order rejecting a constitutional challenge to PA's extended, post-Election Day deadline for absentee ballots.

"…we do so with commitment to a proposition indisputable in our democratic process: that the lawfully cast vote of every citizen must count."

The 3rd Circuit agreed with the district judge that the voters who brought the case lacked standing, and also held that the district judge was right to deny last-minute injunctive relief right before the election on the grounds it would upend the status quo for voters.

IV. CONCLUSION

We do not decide today whether the Deadline Extension or the Presumption of Timeliness are proper exercises of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s lawmaking authority, delegated by the U.S. Constitution, to regulate federal elections. Nor do we evaluate the policy wisdom of those two features of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s ruling. We hold only that when voters cast their ballots under a state’s facially lawful election rule and in accordance with instructions from the state’s election officials, private citizens lack Article III standing to enjoin the counting of those ballots on the grounds that the source of the rule was the wrong state organ or that doing so dilutes their votes or constitutes differential treatment of voters in violation of the Equal Protection Clause. Further, and independent of our holding on standing, we hold that the District Court did not err in denying Plaintiffs’ motion for injunctive relief out of concern for the settled expectations of voters and election officials. We will affirm the District Court’s denial of Plaintiffs’ emergency motion for a TRO or preliminary injunction.

However, a separate challenge remains pending before SCOTUS, though, so the fate of those ballots remains unsettled.

As The Epoch Times' Zachary Stieber detailed earlier, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito on Thursday said the COVID-19 pandemic has served “as a sort of constitutional stress test.”

Alito, 70, told a Federalist Society virtual convention that “we have never before seen restrictions as severe, extensive and prolonged as those experienced, for most of 2020.”

“Think of all the live events that would otherwise be protected by the right to freedom of speech: live speeches, conferences, lectures, meetings. Think of worship services, churches closed on Easter Sunday, synagogues closed for Passover on Yom Kippur. Think about access to the courts, or the constitutional right to a speedy trial. Trials in federal courts have virtually disappeared in many places. Who could have imagined that?” he said.

“The COVID crisis has served as a sort of constitutional stress test. And in doing so it has highlighted disturbing trends that were already present before the virus struck.”

One trend, according to the justice, is how executive actions have increasingly replaced legislation as a means to enact new laws.

“The vision of early 20th century progressives and the New Dealers of the 1930s was the policymaking would shift from narrow-minded elected legislators to an elite group of appointed experts. In a word, the policymaking would become more scientific. That dream has been realized to a large extent,” Alito said.

“Every year, administrative agencies acting under broad delegations of authority churn out huge volumes of regulations that dwarf the statutes enacted by the people’s elected representatives. And what have we seen in the pandemic? Sweeping restrictions imposed, for the most part, under statutes that confer enormous executive discretion.”

Alito referenced law from Nevada that gives the governor a broad mandate to “perform and exercise such functions, powers, and duties as are necessary to promote and secure the safety and protection of the civilian population” in the event of a technological, natural, or manmade emergency or disaster of major proportions.

Are Phone Networks Now Censoring Links About Election Fraud?

A video posted to Twitter shows a woman attempting to send a URL about alleged vote fraud to an iPhone but the message going undelivered, prompting claims that phone networks are now censoring links.

“BREAKING: Messages about election fraud are being censored via text message,” claims the woman. “Here is 100% proof! GEyesgle Green apple or Verizon or all are the culprit. More testing is needed to figure out which company(s) is censoring text messages about the fraud! We have hit peak level censorship!”

The clip shows her sending normal text messages from an Android phone to an iPhone, but when she attempts to send a link about alleged vote fraud from thedonald.win website, the message is not delivered to the iPhone, despite the Android phone saying it had been delivered.

The woman is then able to send an edited version of the link that isn’t a direct URL to the iPhone, but when she attempts to send it back from the iPhone to the Android phone with the URL active, the message is not delivered.

“Imagine if the phone company could just end your call because of the content of your conversation! Or if they could remove links because of th….oh…shit,” commented one respondent.

The other explanation is that the phone company or Google could just be censoring all links from thedonald.win.

As we previously reported, back in August Republican Congressional candidate Laura Loomer accused Comcast and its subsidiary Xfinity of banning her from sending out texts and emails to voters.

Loomer explained how Comcast in Palm Beach County has banned her campaign from sending out communications to voters by labeling them “dangerous content” and not delivering the messages.

Memory Sticks Used to Program Philly’s Voting Machines Were Stolen From Elections Warehouse in September

Well you sure haven’t heard this in the mainstream media, have you America?

A laptop and several memory sticks used to program Philadelphia’s voting machines were stolen from a city warehouse in East Falls, officials confirmed In September, setting off a scramble to investigate and to ensure the machines had not been compromised they claimed.

This story barely received any attention back in September but it sure matters now, doesn’t it?

Though it remains unclear when the equipment was stolen, sources briefed on the investigation said the items vanished this week of September 30th. The laptop belonged to an on-site employee for the company that supplies the machines. It and the USB drives were the only items believed to have been taken.

City officials vowed back then that the theft would not disrupt voting on Nov. 3. They were wrong.

“We are confident,” said Nick Custodio, a deputy to Lisa Deeley, chair of the city commissioners, who oversee elections, “that this incident will not in any way compromise the integrity of the election.”

Israel seals vaccine deal with Pfizer, amid signs pandemic spreading again

PM says Israel will receive enough doses to inoculate 4 million Israelis, though reports say deal allows company to pull out of its promises if circumstances demand

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday announced that Israel signed a deal with Pfizer to purchase millions of coronavirus vaccine shots, days after the US pharmaceutical firm said data suggested the vaccine was 90 percent effective at preventing COVID-19.

The announcement came amid new worrying signs that infections in the country may be trending upwards again.

A military task force warned Friday that recent declines in new infections had halted.

“If the present trend continues in light of the easing [of restrictions] that has been implemented and those that are on the table, a renewed rise in morbidity is expected in the coming days,” the Coronavirus National Information and Knowledge Center said in its daily report.

And the Ynet news site reported that internal Health Ministry data showed the pandemic’s R-naught — the number of people each infected person infects — had risen to 1.0 for the first time since Israel began emerging from its second national lockdown in mid-October.

Any R-naught value above 1 means the pandemic is growing, while values below 1 show it is shrinking.

Such developments would likely stymie any further easing of national restrictions and possibly lead to some limitations being renewed.

As part of the agreement with Pfizer, Netanyahu said Israel would receive 8 million doses of the vaccine, enough to inoculate 4 million Israelis. Netanyahu expressed hope that Pfizer would begin supplying the vaccine in January, pending authorization from health officials in the United States and Israel.

“This is a great day for Israel and a great day for our victory over the coronavirus,” Netanyahu said in a televised statement at IDF military headquarters in Tel Aviv.

However, the Ynet news site reported that the deal does not obligate Pfizer to supply the vaccines but only states that it intends to do so “according to circumstances.” If it fails to supply them, the company will return Israel’s advance.

The report further said Israel will pay the NIS 120 million ($35 million) advance next week, and another NIS 680 million ($202 million) when the first vaccines arrive. Pfizer will then provide hundreds of thousands of vaccines every month for the duration of 2021.

ICE arrests fugitive child sexual predator during targeted enforcement operation in Arizona

PHOENIX – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested a dangerous illegal alien Friday who was wanted in Colorado on felony charges stemming from a sexual assault on a child. On July 23, the Summit County Sheriff's Office in Breckenridge, Colorado, arrested and booked Rafael Ceba-Garcia into the Garfield County Jail. He was arrested on two counts of sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust. The victim in this case was a female child under 15 years of age.

"The coordinated efforts between the Phoenix and Denver ICE offices exemplify the tremendous work the men and women of ICE undertake to identify and prioritize the targeting of individuals who pose considerable threats to the most vulnerable," said Corey A. Price, field office director for ERO Phoenix.

Ceba-Garcia is a citizen of Spain who initially entered the U.S. in February 2013 as a nonimmigrant visitor under the Visa Waiver Program, but failed to depart the U.S., overstaying his term of his admission by more than seven years.

On July 24, ERO Denver lodged an immigration detainer with the Garfield County Jail; however, the detainer was not honored due to Colorado's sanctuary law, and Ceba-Garcia was released Aug. 12, after he posted a cash bond. On Oct. 15, the Summit County District Court issued a bench warrant for Ceba-Garcia after he failed to appear at his criminal court hearing.

On Oct. 16, ERO Denver provided ERO Phoenix with an investigative lead that Ceba-Garcia was residing in Apache Junction, Arizona. That lead resulted in a successful ICE arrest.

Ceba-Garcia will remain in ICE custody pending removal to his home country. ICE will alert Colorado officials of Ceba-Garcia's custody status so that they may pursue extradition through formal criminal judicial avenues.

Price continued, "We will continue to safeguard our communities by enforcing the immigration laws of the United States, and aggressively target sexual predators."

WARNING: Central Bank Digital Currency Coming Faster Than Originally Thought

European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde signaled that her institution could create a digital currency within a few years in what would be a dramatic change to the euro zone’s financial sector, reports Bloomberg.

“My hunch is that it will come,” Lagarde said Thursday during a virtual panel discussion hosted by the ECB. “If it’s cheaper, faster, more secure for the users then we should explore it. If it’s going to contribute to a better monetary sovereignty, a better autonomy for the euro area, I think we should explore it.”

She said it might only take between two to four years before the currency is launched.

Public Colleges Defy Federal Law with Racially Segregated Events to Further Diversity

The Department of Justice (DOJ) should investigate “an alarming trend of racial segregation” at America’s taxpayer-funded universities, according to a pair of United States Senators who cite a number of troubling examples in a letter to Attorney General William Barr. The incidents appear to be part of a growing and increasingly powerful movement aimed at promoting diversity by somehow undoing what leftists assert is systemic racism at academic institutions in the U.S. This has led officials at campuses nationwide to organize numerous events, create race-based dorms and other divisive activities that, ironically, infringe upon the decades-old federal law enacted to prohibit it.

In fact, in the letter to Barr the senators—Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Kelly Loeffler of Georgia—note that the colleges appear to be violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the landmark legislation that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The law also strengthened school desegregation and voting rights. The section that the lawmakers refer to in their letter to the attorney general specifically prohibits discrimination based on race in federally funded activities or programs like the ones listed. The senators urge the DOJ to investigate the discriminatory events and other accommodations provided in their letter as well as other similar cases as part of “our nation’s commitment to equality before the law.” After noting examples as well as a National Association of Scholars report documenting incidents, the legislators write this: “Sadly, there is evidence that segregation is a growing trend, especially on college campuses.”

Cotton and Loeffler point out two recent examples in the letter to Barr. The first involves online discussion groups hosted by the University of Michigan that were segregated based on race, with moderators also segregated by race. Situated in Ann Arbor, the school is ranked third nationally among all public universities and has an enrollment of around 31,500. The events, sponsored by the campus Center for Social Justice and Inclusion, were advertised as “virtual cafes” that offered opportunities for students to gather and discuss their experience on campus and in the world as members of a particular racial group. The series of discussions included separate events for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (known as BIPOC) and “non-POC”, or white students. “In plain English, the University of Michigan appears to have created ‘whites-only’ and ‘non-whites-only’ events, in a manner reminiscent of the doctrine of racial segregation overturned by Brown v. Board of Education,” the senators’ letter states. The lawmakers reveal that the university’s chancellor subsequently apologized, though the school maintains that the race-based events were never intended to be exclusive or exclusionary for individuals of a certain race.

Mississippi gov. says state would not follow any potential national lockdowns

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves said Thursday his state would not cooperate with any potential national economic lockdowns to curb the spread of coronavirus, a new report said.

Reeves was responding to recent comments made by an advisor to President-elect Joe Biden that the US could manage the pandemic by locking down small to medium sized businesses for up to six weeks.

The governor, in a Facebook Live video, called the lockdown idea by Dr. Michael Osterholm “totally and completely beyond reasonableness,” the Mississippi Clarion Ledger reported.

“The people of Mississippi can’t just go home and shut down their small businesses … for six weeks, and just think that you can come back six weeks from now, flip a switch and everything’s gonna be fine,” Reeves said.

Reeves said state and local governments should combat the coronavirus, with federal support.

“I don’t believe there is any constitutional or statutory authority for any president to shut down Mississippi’s economy,” he said. “We will certainly fight that if it becomes necessary.”

Potential Biden Cabinet Pick a Frequent Guest on Chinese Propaganda Outlets

Progressive darling Jeffrey Sachs previously consulted for Chinese regime

Jeffrey Sachs, an economist and potential progressive pick for a cabinet position under a Joe Biden administration, appeared on Chinese propaganda outlets throughout the 2020 campaign to blast U.S. foreign policy as an "unholy crusade against China."

Sachs, a Columbia University economist, contributed to scathing articles in the Global Times, China Daily, and other regime mouthpieces and has done media hits on state-owned outlets such as the China Global Television Network (CGTN). Southern Poverty Law Center: Teachers Are ‘Weaponizing’ Whiteness

The Southern Poverty Law Center published an article documenting the ways in which white teachers "weaponize their whiteness" to harm black students.

The article, published by SPLC's "Teaching Tolerance" division, outlines how white people weaponize their "entitlement, anger, … need for retaliation, feigned fear and, finally, white fragility."

It suggests that teachers—particularly white, female teachers—can stop the weaponization of whiteness by relinquishing control of their classrooms when a student questions their authority. One teacher quoted in the piece says he has to "resist the urge to maintain power or control in [his] class, and especially to resist the anger that can bubble up in [him] when that control is called into question."

Other weaponizations of whiteness include crying in the classroom and disciplining students in a colorblind manner. The article claims that if a white, female educator cries around her students, she is using the tears to "gain sympathy or further assert [her] power."

"History has viewed white women as prized possessions to be protected, so their tears have represented danger, terror, and death for black people," the article reads. It goes on to say that disciplining students re-creates "the dynamics that were used as excuses for racial terror" under Jim Crow laws.

Teaching Tolerance offers educators a free curriculum derived from critical race theory, which asserts that America was founded on racism. In Virginia's richest school district, teachers are using that curriculum in kindergarten classrooms. SPLC says it supplies the materials to half a million educators nationwide, but the actual number is likely much higher, as schools can access the curriculum online.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Wednesday announced elections officials will be conducting a hand recount and full audit of every single ballot that was submitted.

Raffensperger had announced last week they would be doing a recount after ballots turned up in the dead of night and pushed the state for Joe Biden.

Following the announcement, the Trump campaign asked Georgia election officials to count all ballots by hand instead of using high-speed scanners, which they have agreed to do. This is the first time a full vote audit has ever been conducted in the state.

Susan Knox, a GOP observer attending the hand recount in Cobb County, Georgia on Friday said what is happening is “horrible for the integrity of our election process.”

Observers cannot see what the ballot counters are actually doing.

The Sentry: African Conflict Gold is Being Laundered in Dubai

The years-long rise in international gold prices has driven a new artisanal gold mining and refining rush in conflict-affected areas in East and Central Africa and has turned the United Arab Emirates into the foremost launderer of such gold, according to a new report from The Sentry.

The policy center devoted to tracing dirty money connected to African warlords said that annually, over US$3 billion in gold mined in the affected regions, including conflict gold from which armed groups and army units profit, reaches international markets in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

“Almost all of the high-risk gold mined in East and Central Africa makes its way to Dubai, where policy and regulatory loopholes allow for this trade to flourish,” said Megha Swamy, Deputy Director of Illicit Finance Policy at The Sentry.

Gold is easily smuggled in high volumes, which is why it is often used as a money laundering vehicle by armed groups, criminal networks, and corrupt actors, who can then mask its origins by melting it together with other gold.

“Financial institutions, companies, and others with exposure to Dubai's gold trade face myriad money laundering risks. Understanding and urgently addressing these risks is crucial to disrupting the gold-related illicit financial flows fueling violence and corruption,” Swamy said.

The precious metal makes it to Dubai in a variety of ways.

While Sudan often exports directly to Dubai, gold from other countries such as South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Central African Republic is smuggled through a series of intermediate nations before arriving in the UAE which attracts traders and smugglers thanks to its regulatory shortcomings.

The vast majority of such gold is first sold in the famous Dubai Gold Souk, a large trading and jewelry market, and then traded onward to refiners and jewelers.

The group is advocating for increased scrutiny on any gold coming out of the UAE.

“Jewelry, electronics, and other companies buying gold should understand that conflict gold is entering mainstream supply chains via Dubai,” said John Prendergast, Co-Founder of The Sentry.

“Unless companies involved in the gold trade increase their vigilance and due diligence when sourcing gold from Dubai, they will increasingly be contributing to the violence and destruction of human life in this vulnerable region of Africa,” he said.

Comer, Hice question USPS IG over handling of mail-in ballot whistleblower complaint

House Committee on Oversight and Reform Ranking Member James Comer and Government Operations Subcommittee Ranking Member Jody Hice wrote a letter to United States Postal Service Inspector General Tammy Whitcomb concerning the handling of a testimony made by Richard Hopkins, a United States Postal Service employee in Erie, PA.

Hopkins gave a testimony and provided a subsequent sworn statement to the Office of the Inspector General (OIG).

According to the letter, later that evening the Oversight Committee Democrats launched a Twitter thread that publicized facts that were told by Hopkins during his testimony. The tweets alleged that Hopkins signed a false affidavit.

This information was reported by The Washington Post and other outlets.

“Nevertheless, shortly after the Democrats’ tweets, multiple videos surfaced containing what appear to be recordings of part of Hopkins’ interview with OIG agents. Portions of the recording show OIG agents pressuring Hopkins into clarifying his statement by reviewing his recollection of events he witnessed. In Hopkins’ new statement, as documented in the recording and apparently amended with the assistance of the OIG agents, he did not witness any explicitly illicit activities—a story more favorable to Democrats and the news media’s broad dismissal of the public’s valid concerns about the integrity of mass mail-in voting,” the letter wrote.

In a statement by Comer, he said, “there is public confusion about these allegations and the Office of the Inspector General owes the American people and Congress an explanation for their actions surrounding Richard Hopkins’ USPS whistleblower complaint.”

He added, “Our elections are of pivotal importance to our country, and a potential disruption of our elections must be thoroughly and accurately investigated and follow all proper procedures. American citizens deserve absolute transparency surrounding our electoral process and any potential flaws or issues in the system.”

Comer and Hice now demand additional materials related to Hopkins’ case and ask that they brief Committee staff on the investigation.

Aeroflot London Executive Arrested In Moscow And Charged With Spying For British Intelligence

On November 11th, Moscow’s Lefortovo court arrested Russian Dmitry Fedotkin, who is an Aeroflot country and station manager in London since December 2012.

He is suspected of committing a crime under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Treason”). Dmitry Fedotkin has been placed in pre-trial detention until January 10th, 2021.

“Fedotkin is suspected of passing secrets about Russia’s social and political situation to the British intelligence services,” TASS quoted an unnamed source close to the investigation as saying.

“At the same time, he did not have access to state secrets due to the nature of his activities,” they added.

Fedotkin faces up to 20 years in prison if he is found guilty.

On November 12th, Aeroflot told Russian state news agencies that they were unaware of Fedotkin’s detention.

Another unnamed source in Aeroflot told the RBC news website that security services carried out searches at the airline’s Moscow offices.

He is essentially charged with working for the intelligence service of Great Britain, an unnamed source told RIA Novosti.

“Fedotkin is suspected of being an employee of Aeroflot in Great Britain, passing information of a secret nature to the British intelligence service. He does not admit guilt in the alleged crime,” said the source said.

The source also added that Fedotkin is a native of Moscow, and he was detained in the capital.

The official details of the case were not disclosed at the instance, as the case is classified as “secret”.

The British Foreign Office has never commented on reports relating to intelligence issues, RIA Novosti was told at the British Embassy in Moscow when the outlet asked for a comment on the matter of the arrest.

“The British Foreign Office has never commented on any messages regarding intelligence issues,” the embassy told RIA Novosti. They added that “questions on this case should be addressed to the Russian side.”

Trump Bans US Investments In 31 Companies Controlled By China's Military

President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order that banned Americans from investing in a list of companies that the administration believes support the Chinese military.

The order — which blocks American firms or individuals from investing or owning shares — applies to 31 Chinese companies. It will take effect on Jan. 11, 2021.

Chinese companies such as Huawei, Hikvision, Inspur Group, Panda Electronics Group, China Telecommunications Corp. and China National Nuclear Corp. were blacklisted, the initial list released by the Department of Defense in June noted.

The Trump administration said the executive order is designed to prevent U.S. companies or individuals from enabling "the development and modernization” of the Chinese military, CNBC reported.

“The People’s Republic of China (PRC) is increasingly exploiting United States capital to resource and to enable the development and modernization of its military, intelligence, and other security apparatuses,” the order read.

The investments “allow the PRC to directly threaten the United States homeland and United States forces overseas, including by developing and deploying weapons of mass destruction, advanced conventional weapons, and malicious cyber-enabled actions against the United States and its people.”

American investors are also banned from owning or trading any securities that originated from the blacklisted firms, including pension funds or shares. Any firm or individual who has connections with the Chinese firms listed will have until November 2021 to divest from the companies.
