The FDA is really worried the public might realize that Ivermectin for animals can be purchased without prescription from pet stores, and even Amazon, in an oral paste formulation intended to treat Horses. If we don't need a prescription to get the drug then PhRMA (and hence FDA) loses all control, and can no longer deny the public access to the COVID cures like some states do with Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ).. So the FDA has just released an FAQ telling us not to be naughty

Your Doctor can prescribe it for you (brand name is 'stromectol' in tablet form) but good luck finding a doctor who thinks out-of-the-box these days.. It is commonly used in humans to treat kids hair-lice, and even the WHO regards it as harmless.
Obviously humans have to be careful when scaling the veterinary dose down from a 1250lb horse to a 170lb human. The usual human dose is 12 to 18 milligrams of drug which can be repeated every 3-4 days. This corresponds to 2/3 to 1 gram of the 1.87% oral horse-paste from your pet shop, just 170/1250 of the amount which is intended for the 1250lb horse. Although the FDA is aware of several studies showing the drug works against many viruses, it is even effective against the Spanish Flu and Ebola, so it is not telling the public about it. After all, how can you create future pandemics when there is a drug which treats them all? Ivermectin kills all the RNA-based viruses. Also, who would want those profitable Influenza shots when you can just take Ivermectin when you get the sniffles..

Ivermectin has been approved for use in humans for decades, being distributed for free by Merck in African and South American countries to fight parasitic diseases. The same dose is effective in COVID (150-200 micrograms/kilogram of body weight). The dose can be repeated weekly, if needed, to deal with any "long-covid" symptoms.
