Anybody doing analysis of Pennsylvania should look at this site.

https://www.dos.pa.gov/VotingElections/OtherServicesEvents/VotingElectionStatistics/Pages/VotingElectionStatistics.aspx

And then look at "Voter registration statistics by county"

It will give you a lot of detail.

It will tell you that you don't get the total amount of voters by adding up D + R + Other, because there's also "no affiliation" which means Independent, and if you simply guess that there isn't "no affiliation" you'll be guessing wrong.

That spreadsheet also contains information about how a lot of people switched from Other and GOP to Democrat in Chester and Montgomery County. Looking at the data, you can see that just this year, 11K went R to D, and 5K went D to R this year in Montgomery County.

And in Chester County, it was 7K D to R and 1.5K R to D. (other is also included in the move out). Overall, Pennsylvania had more New GOP than New Democrat, based on party switching.

In rural areas, you find a lot of straight switches from D to R. Another common switch is Other to D.
