It's the other way around with most religions. It's a corrupt system designed to engineer subservience and sacrifices to the the patron god - which is infiltrated by the general tendency for people to be compassionate and cooperative as with all things, it also tends to have a reliance on intelligent people who are smarter than the evil people.
Christianity morphed from following and learning from Jesus to being a worship of Jesus. Why read about and learn from the messiah when you can simply say that you wuvs him and you get eternal orgasms or whatever?
Let me ask a different question… What defines a man from beast?
A pig flees pain and pursues pleasure.
A man endures pain and abstains from pleasure to succeed in a goal.
The core foundation of most religions is to inspire fear of pain in the afterlife and to market bliss. Sublimation of the self is blissful. Release your very existence and cease to be, giving your soul up to your god.
Let's flip this around and ask what a succubus is. It's supposed to be a demon who sucks out your soul through sex.
What is the difference between this and the god/heaven of most religious institutions?
