Gov. Whitmer expected to announce new COVID-19 restrictions Sunday

Lansing — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is expected to announce new restrictions Sunday to combat the spread of COVID-19 as the state experiences a surge in cases of the virus.

A press conference will take place at 6 p.m. Sunday — a rare weekend briefing that comes five days after the governor said she was exploring the “next steps” her administration would take against COVID-19.
