Bombogenesis is happening off the West Coast this morning. An area of low pressure about 500 miles offshore Eugene, OR is undergoing rapid intensification with the central pressure expected to drop 24 millibars in 24 hours. The definition of what meteorologist call "bombogenesis". While this rare bomb of a storm has its eyes set on northern Vancouver Island, the wind field associated with this storm will be large enough to bring potentially damaging winds to our Pacific Coast beaches and Northwest Interior Tuesday.
