But oops,
According to Coakley it actually had (Absentee) votes on it.
Enough to flip the race from the Republican who was ahead (until the thumb drive was mysteriously discovered) to the [D]emocrat who was behind.
(The thumb drive "ballots" made the difference.)

Henrico County, one of Virginia’s largest counties will implement Scytl’s Election Management System (EMS) in this coming U.S. Presidential Election. According to General Registrar Mark Coakley, the key reasons for selecting Scytl was its ability to handle absentee voters more efficiently and accurately than Virginia’s actual voter registration system and also for its knowledge of U.S. and in particular Virginia’s election environment. The use of Scytl’s EMS solution will allow more efficient handling of absentee ballots processed in the County’s Central Absentee Precinct.

Does losing the chain of custody over a flash drive with vote tallies on it invalidate the vote tallies on that flash drive?
