The Gulfstream II jet destroyed on a makeshift airfield near the Colombian border was the third US-registered aircraft to taken down for violating Venezuela's airspace in less than five months - despite Washington's claims that President Nicolas Maduro is aiding drug-trafficking into the USA.

Venezuelan armed forces have destroyed a US-registered business jet and a jungle airstrip used by drug traffickers, officials say.

A Grumman Gulfstream IISP jet, with the US registration number N104VV, was discovered at the site in the Caño Amarillo sector of the forested Catatumbo region of Western Zulia state.

National Anti-drug Office (ONA) chief Alberto Matheus Meléndez tweeted photos of the aftermath of the raid by the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) on Sunday.

Measles cases reach 23-year high, with infections hitting 870,000

Measles cases reached the highest level in 23 years in 2019, and health authorities warned that many countries aren’t vaccinating enough people amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The global total for confirmed measles infections rose to 869,770 last year, the World Health Organization and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a report released Thursday. The number of deaths soared by 50% compared with a low reached in 2016.

The percentage of people who have received a first measles shot has stagnated in recent years, and the coronavirus pandemic is now lowering vaccination rates by halting immunization campaigns, putting 94 million people at risk, according to the WHO.

The situation is like an increasing amount of tinder that could result in a “forest fire,” Natasha Crowcroft, a senior technical officer on measles at the WHO, said on a call with journalists.

Nine countries represented 73% of all cases, with large outbreaks occurring in Congo, Madagascar, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, according to Crowcroft. The airborne disease caused 207,500 deaths last year.

President Trump’s policies limiting immigration, decried by liberals and the Biden-Harris ticket, won broad bipartisan and Hispanic support in the election and even turned several border towns red for the first time in years.

In a voter exit survey for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, 78% said immigration was an “important” issue for them and was key to who they voted for. Support for Trump’s border closings to block further COVID-19 exposure won 80% support.

Significantly, said the Zogby Analytics survey shared with Secrets, 60% of Hispanics and 54% of Democrats backed Trump’s immigration cuts to protect U.S. jobs. And similar numbers agreed that the cuts were good to “maintain our nation's population.

The CDC also revealed in their latest numbers that hospitals have been counting patients who died from serious preexisting conditions as COVID-19 deaths.

Largely unbeknownst to the general public, executives and top journalists of almost all major US news outlets have long been members of the influential Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

The corporate media want to cancel Thanksgiving while they are out proving they don’t believe the coronavirus is a serious threat by championing left-wing riots, left-wing protests, and celebrations for Joe Biden.

Russia cancels house arrest of US investor Calvey, other suspects in embezzlement case

Russia’s Supreme Court has eased the detention terms for U.S. investor Michael Calvey and six others from house arrest to a restriction on “certain activities.”

The court ruled on November 12 that the the seven businessmen, accused of embezzlement may not change their permanent addresses, leave their homes between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., visit financial institutions involved with the case, communicate with other suspects in places other than the courtroom, send or receive mail, or use telephones unless it’s an emergency.

The restrictions will last until at least January 13, 2021.

Calvey and several other executives and employees of the Russian-based private-equity group Baring Vostok, including French national Philippe Delpal, were detained in Moscow in February 2019 and charged with financial fraud.
