I am an English teacher, and Browning is my favorite poet. My favorite of his Poems is Porphyria's lover. If you look in earnest, trying to understand porphyria, the "king's disease", then you will find a disease called "Tay-Sachs" syndrome which only affects Ashkenazi Jews.
