In a PB notable Anon found anNCSWICPDF document that discusses border states being forced to pay a lot of money to get frequency licenses within 75 miles of the Canadian boarder.
"Often times, license requests submitted to Canada by American agencies are rejected with no reason, forcing the agency to repeatedly re-submit modified applications, which prove costly and time consuming."
"For example, it took one agency 12 applications and $3,000 to secure an Emergency Management frequency."
Anon wonders how closely state entities collaborate with their interoperability partners. What, besides US Taxpayer money, do they share with Canada and others?
Project 25is mentioned in thisNCSWICMay 4, 2017 Meeting Summary PDF. Anon is not exactly sure what Project 25 is, other than it has something to do with communication standards and a process involved in interoperability. Thoughts are that its about collusion.
