Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti Announces Crackdown On Coronavirus Violations: “If We Don’t Make These Decisions Now…We Will Almost Certainly Have To Shut Things Down Again”

“The situation in L.A. is more concerning than it’s ever been,” said Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti on Monday. “Right now is the toughest moment we have faced. And we’re entering an even more dangerous time. We have no reason to believe that the worst-case scenario can’t happen here in our city and county.

“This is a different kind of moment,” said Garcetti, “a new level of danger. And if we don’t make these decisions now, there really is one outcome: We will almost certainly have to shut things down again.”

To try and prevent that, the mayor announced that the city will ramp up enforcement of the county’s current public health rules. “I have directed city departments to expand enforcement efforts for business that are still not in compliance with our public health protocols,” announced Garcetti. “And we will issue citations…and revoke permits for businesses who violate our requirements and put all of us at risk.”

100,000 Provisional Ballots Still Uncounted in Pennsylvania

"There’s big news breaking here in Pennsylvania, and most of the national media seems to be unaware. It’s the matter of Pennsylvania’s crucial (but heretofore largely ignored) provisional ballots, which could be decisive in pushing Donald Trump back into the lead in the state, or at least triggering a statewide recount."

Gov. Newsom imposes new coronavirus restrictions after apologizing for breaking his own rules to attend party

California Gov. Newsom is being called a hypocrite for breaking his own coronavirus rules by attending a birthday party at an expensive restaurant earlier this month.

Newsom apologized on Monday, calling his decision to attend the Nov. 6 party with a dozen friends at the pricey French Laundry restaurant north of San Francisco a “bad mistake.” The restaurant is a posh eatery in California's Napa Valley where the cost of its nine-course tasting menu exceeds $300 per person.

According to Politico, Newsom was attending a celebration for longtime California Democratic fixer and lobbyist Jason Kinney.

“I made a bad mistake,” the Democratic governor said. “I should have stood up and … drove back to my house.”

“The spirit of what I’m preaching all the time was contradicted,” he added. “I need to preach and practice, not just preach.”

Map of the 1984 (Reagan) Presidential election

California is mostly farmland. Conservatives and moderates. Voter fraud has swung the "results" further to the left over the decades.

Gov. Newsom Says He’s Considering Curfew To Help Stem California’s COVID Surge

“We are sounding the alarm,” Newsom said in a statement. “California is experiencing the fastest increase in cases we have seen yet – faster than what we experienced at the outset of the pandemic or even this summer.”

As part of the new restrictions announced on Monday – which included make being required to be worn when outside the home with limited exceptions – Newsom quickly mentioned how he was looking at the efficacy of curfews.

Newsom noted how a couple of other states, as well as numerous cities, had already implemented curfews.

Countries like France, Germany and Saudi Arabia have also implemented coronavirus-related curfews, Newsom said.

If California were to implement a curfew, it could take the look of several different kinds of restrictions. Some cities, like Kansas City, have mandated that restaurants close by 10 p.m. In France, specific areas – like the Paris region – have implemented an overnight curfew (like from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.) for all residents.

The thinking of implementing a curfew follows the reasoning that it will help reduce behaviors considered “high-risk” of transmitting the virus – like people mingling at restaurants or bars. However, some experts have warned that forcing places to close early could also encourage other risky behavior – like forcing more people to visit a business in a more narrow timeframe.
