Shafaq News / The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi said on Tuesday that the director of the Korean company, Daewoo, had committed suicide after being subjected to "pressure and blackmail."

In statements he made after the cabinet session, Al-Kadhimi said, "The talk about canceling agreements, including the Chinese agreement, is regrettable," adding, "my message to politicians and media professionals is to convey the truth, not lies."

He pointed out, "the Chinese agreement has not been canceled. It was signed by Al-Abadi's government in February 2018," stressing at the same time that Al-Faw Grand Port project has not been canceled, and will be signed."

"The director of the Korean company was subjected to pressure and blackmail. That is why he committed suicide", Al-Kadhimi added.

Regarding the 2021 general budget, Al-Kadhimi said, "It will be approved and submitted to the council of Representatives", adding, "If the Parliament does not approve it on time, we will face a problem in the first month of 2021."

On October 9, the security authorities in Basra Governorate, southern Iraq, found Daewoo's director dead, a few days after signing a huge contract to work in Al-Faw port.

Justice Democrats the new Bernie Bro's

The progressive organization Justice Democrats in a statement Tuesday criticized President-elect Joe Biden’s reported plans to make “corporate-friendly appointments” to his administration.

“If Joe Biden continues making corporate-friendly appointments to his White House, he will risk quickly fracturing the hard-earned goodwill his team built with progressives to defeat Donald Trump,” Justice Democrats Executive Director Alexandra Rojas said in a statement.

“A Biden administration dominated by corporate-friendly insiders like [former Biden chief of staff] Steve Ricchetti and [Rep.] Cedric Richmond [D-La.] will not help the President-elect usher in the most progressive Democratic administration in generations,” she added.

Richmond, a national co-chair of Biden’s campaign, announced Monday that he will serve as a senior adviser and assistant to Biden as president, a role that has been compared to that of Valerie Jarrett in the Obama administration. Richmond is currently the only Democratic and only Black member of Louisiana’s House delegation.

I thought Andy McCabe said this damning evidence needed to come out

Washington — The Democratic-led House Judiciary Committee is requesting the Supreme Court delay oral arguments in a closely watched dispute over the disclosure of secret grand jury materials from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, citing President-elect Joe Biden's victory over President Trump and the start of a new Congress in January.

Lawyers for House Democrats asked the court in a filing Tuesday to remove the case from its December 2020 argument calendar, as pushing back the oral argument currently set for December 2 "would be in the best interest of the parties and the court and may conserve judicial resources."

Chicago and the surrounding suburbs went under stricter lockdowns Monday that will persist for the next 30 days, well past Thanksgiving. Residents are being ordered to avoid travel and gatherings with individuals outside their own home.

Pritzker himself has asked residents to keep gatherings “small and virtual, maintaining six feet of distance from others and wearing a mask,” indoors or out.

“We all need to celebrate a bit differently,” Pritzker said.
