This point fails to reach most people. I had a lady scold me for not wearing a mask, and of course, she told me her sister died of COVID. Right away I shot back at her, "did your sister wear a mask?" And she smugly said, "of course!". It took a few seconds, but then it dawned on her and she angrily walked away.
If masks are so effective, why the need for lockdowns and why are more and more people supposedly becoming infected? I haven't seen another person's face in months. Around here, people wear masks in the parking lots of stores.
