There are really only two thought processes in the way a judge adjudicates.

They firmly believe in their judgement without any outside influence.

They do not believe in their judgement but were coerced.
In the second case, one would think that there would be SOME situations where the judge would come clean and confess to their crimes in exchange for clemency, but that is not happening. There is something intensely more frightening than simple blackmail occurring here. Perhaps a threat to their families or (far-fetched) the cabal has direct insight as to what eternal damnation is like.
