QAnon Follower Allegedly Murders QAnon-Famous Legal Advisor Whom She Enlisted to Regain Custody of Her Kids

In a bizarre and deeply disturbing turn of events, a proponent of QAnon has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a crank legal theorist who was widely known and respected among a certain subset of QAnon supporters, whom she had relied on for bogus legal advice in an effort to regain custody of her twin daughters.

There’s a lot to unpack here, so let’s start with the people involved, Neely Petrie-Blanchard and Chris Hallett. The Daily Beast has written numerous stories about Chris Hallett, who along with his associate Kirk Pendergrass founded a group called E-Clause that has become closely tied with QAnon believers who promote the idea that Child Protective Services agents are stealing people’s children with the intent to traffic them. For this group of QAnon supporters, E-Clause is now their one-stop-shop for incredibly bad legal advice claiming that the government has limited or no authority over its citizens, advice that is seemingly heavily influenced by the sovereign citizen movement.

California Medical Association leaders also attended the controversial dinner party where Gov. Gavin Newsom was seen breaking his own coronavirus restrictions.

California Medical Association CEO Dustin Corcoran and CMA lobbyist Janus Norman were among those present celebrating the birthday of Jason Kinney, Newsom’s political adviser, Politico reported Wednesday.

"The California Medical Association represents 50,000 doctors in the nation’s most populous state and has recently tweeted messages including #StayHome and #WearAMask," KTLA reported.

Photos of the event also surfaced this week and show none of the 12 partygoers wearing face masks, most notably the Democratic governor.

San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer; “His kids can learn in person. But yours can’t,” Faulconer tweeted. “He can celebrate birthday parties. But you can’t. He can dine on a $350 meal at one of California’s fanciest restaurants during the worst recession in generations. But you definitely can’t. Can you believe this? I can’t.”

More than 200 Facebook workers say the social media company is making content moderators return to the office during the pandemic because the company's attempt to rely more heavily on automated systems has "failed."

The workers made the claim in an open letter to Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg and chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg, as well as the heads of two companies, Accenture and CPL, to which Facebook subcontracts content moderation.

"Without our work, Facebook is unusable," they wrote. "Your algorithms cannot spot satire. They cannot sift journalism from disinformation. They cannot respond quickly enough to self-harm or child abuse. We can."

The letter was organized by Foxglove, a law firm representing content moderators, and was signed by both contractors and full-time Facebook employees.

Facebook relies on more than 15,000 people around the world to review which posts break its rules and must come down, and which can stay up — ranging from spam and nudity to hate speech and violence. Most moderators are not Facebook employees, but contractors who work for third parties including Accenture and CPL.
