Alright faggots, gather around. I'm gonna breakdown ECW's speech, since there's so much ignorance and misinformation about what was said, what it means, and subsequently notabled. Yes, I know what I'm talking about.

  1. ECW never said anything close to "civilian special ops".

  2. All military departments (Navy, Army, Air Force) have civilian leadership, as in, secretary of …, who report directly to the SECDEF.

  3. ECW is saying USSOCOM is being elevated (tighter leash) to department-level echelon and will have its own civilian leadership (ECW)

Why? Ok, this part is anon's theory. JSOC, which is under USSOCOM, conducts all the movie plot-like missions. All of those missions are, at least, at the time, classified Top Secret, etc., which means "need to know". This means that knowledge of some of what they do stops at USSOCOM. Knowledge of some missions never reach branch leadership, the branch secretaries, or the SECDEF.

One might ask, how the fuck is that possible? Don't orders/missions come from the top down? The answer is yes, but complicated when it comes to JSOC. Remember in Syria some SOF operators were complaining they were straight up training terrorists? How do you think that happened? Do you think the joint chiefs ordered that? Of course not, but that sort of thing can happen when clowns might make a request directly to USSOCOM, circumventing organizational chain of command, which they might be technically allowed to do, if the orders come from the WH.

The new structure means that if clowns need USSOCOM support, ECW, and by extention, SEFDEF would have a need to know. Hope that makes sense.
