Clicking Update a bunch of times rapidly until the little countdown next to it stops counting and it just says "Updating", then stopping seems to consistently update the bread
I repeat
Click Update at the bottom of the page many times (Sometimes 5 times, sometimes 25 times) until it stops counting down to update and JUST says 'Updating'
Then stop clicking
Wait a few seconds
That's working for me

Click Update rapidly at the bottom of the page many times (Sometimes 5 times, sometimes 50 times) until it stops counting down between your clicks and JUST says 'Updating'
Then stop clicking
Keep clicking quickly until this happens.
It seems that the faster you click, the faster it works
Another, easier method
Turn off auto update at the bottom, and manually update the bread with a single click.
This works much better for me
