U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims Jump to 742,000, Worse Than Expected
New weekly jobless claims jumped by 31,000 to 742,000 in the week ended November 14, the Department of Labor said Thursday.
Economists had expected jobless claims to inch up to 710,000 from the 709,000 initially reported a week ago. The previous week’s level was revised up by 2,000 to 711,000.
This is the first week of claims following the U.S. presidential election and may be viewed as a proxy for business reaction to the election.
Jobless claims—which are a proxy for layoffs—remain at extremely high levels. Prior to the pandemic, the highest level of claims was 695,000 hit in October of 1982. In March of 2009, at the depths of the financial crisis recession, jobless claims peaked at 665,000.
Claims hit a record 6.87 million for the week of March 27, more than ten times the previous record. Through spring and early summer, each subsequent week had seen claims decline. But in late July, the labor market appeared to stall and claims hovered around one million throughout August, a level so high it was never recorded before the pandemic struck. Claims moved down again in September and hade made slow, if steady, progress until the election.
New restrictions on businesses aimed at stemming the resurgence of coronavirus are likely contributing to the rise in layoffs. Some states and cities have imposed new curfews and discouraged people from leaving home for non-essential reasons.
Claims can be volatile so economists like to look at the four-week average for a better view of the health of the labor market. This declined 13,750 to 742,000.
Continuing claims—those made after the initial filing, representing ongoing unemployment—get reported with a week’s lag. For the week ended November 7, these came in at 6,372,000, a decrease of 429,000. The four-week moving average for continuing claims fell to 7,054,500, a decrease of 525,000 from the previous week’s revised average.
In addition to regular unemployment benefits, the federal government this year created two new programs to provide aid to those not usually eligible for state programs. During the week ending October 31, 8.7 million individuals claimed benefits under the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program, which provides aid to self-employed workers, business owners, and gig workers. Another 4.4 million individuals claimed benefits under the Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation program, which extends unemployment for an additional 13-weeks after state benefits run out. That’s an indicator that more workers are staying unemployed for longer.
The highest insured unemployment rates in the week ending October 31 were in California (8.3), Hawaii (8.3), New Mexico (8.0), Nevada (7.6), Georgia (6.5), Pennsylvania (6.4), Alaska (6.2), Massachusetts (6.2), District of Columbia (6.0), and Illinois (5.7).

As Facebook Bans Peaceful Voices, Zuckerberg Accused of Secret Surveillance, Censorship Conspiracy
For those who have been paying attention over the years, it is no secret that Facebook has become a leviathan of censorship and data mining. Facebook users are no more customers of the company than chickens in a processing factory are their voluntarily. When you use Facebook, you are the product.
This notion became even more popular this year with the release of the chilling documentary, The Social Dilemma. While the issues presented in the documentary have been known for several years, during a Monday hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was accused of something far more sinister than simply pimping out users for ad revenue.
During the hearing, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) confronted lord Zuckerberg over information the senator’s office reportedly received from a whistleblower inside Facebook.
“Mr. Zuckerberg, tell me about ‘Centra,” Hawley asked Zuckerberg. “What is the Facebook internal tool called Centra?”
Zuckerberg replied, “Senator, I’m not aware of any tool with that name.”
Hawley then alluded to these claims as lies by responding to Zuckerberg with photographs that he said showed the tool in use.
“Let me see if this refreshes your memory. There is a demonstrative over my shoulder,” Hawley told the censorship happy billionaire. “Centra is a tool that Facebook uses to track its users not just on Facebook, but across the entire internet. Centra tracks different profiles that a user visits, their message recipients, their linked accounts, the pages they visit around the Web that have Facebook buttons. Sentra also uses behavioral data to monitor users’ accounts, even if those accounts are registered under a different name.”
In 2018, TFTP reported on the fact that even if you have never had a Facebook account, this social media leviathan uses online tracking devices that follow a user’s internet activity via third-parties and you never have to visit Facebook for it to happen. But Hawley says the Centra program goes further.
During the hearing, Hawley suggested that the program goes as far as taking enforcement actions against people, asking Zuckerberg, “How many accounts in the United States have been subject to review and shut down through Centra?”
Again, Zuckerberg denied knowledge of the program but did not deny that it existed.
“I do not know because I’m not actually familiar with the name of that tool,” Zuckerberg said. “I’m sure we have tools that help us with our platform and community integrity work, but I am not familiar with that name.”

Lawyer Who Worked On Trump Pennsylvania Effort Placed Under Official Protection, Report Says
A Philadelphia attorney who was representing President Trump’s campaign has been reportedly placed under official protection after threats were made against her.
Noting court papers filed on Wednesday, The New York Post reported, “Philadelphia lawyer Linda Kerns ‘has been the subject of threats of harm, to the point at which the involvement of police and U.S. Marshals has been necessary to provide for her safety,’ the filing says.” The Post added, “The stunning revelation came two days after Kerns, a solo practitioner, sought sanctions against a lawyer from the firm representing Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar for leaving her an ‘abusive voicemail on Saturday night.’”
The phone call came from a junior attorney at Kirkland & Ellis. Daniel Donovan, Kirkland’s lead attorney on the election suit targeting Pennsylvania, told the court on Monday, “That associate was acting unilaterally, in his personal capacity, without the knowledge or authorization of undersigned counsel or the Firm … The associate provided a personal email and had a baby babbling in the background during the voicemail,” according to Politico.
The document filed Monday seeking sanctions showed Kern’s claim: “Since this case was filed, undersigned counsel has been subjected to continuous harassment in the form of abusive e-mails, phone calls, physical and economic threats, and even accusations of treason — all for representing the President of the United States’ campaign in this litigation.”
“It is one thing for members of the public to break the laws of decorum, or even laws of Pennsylvania or the United States, by engaging in such harassment,” Kerns continued. “This Court’s role is not to protect counsel from such attacks. But it is another thing for a lawyer in the Washington, D.C. office of Kirkland & Ellis, Secretary Boockvar’s outside counsel, to do so. And yet that is what happened. It is quintessentially the Court’s role to police and appropriately sanction law firms appearing in front of it for such conduct. It is plaintiff’s obligation to defend its counsel, and it does so now by respectfully moving for an order for Kirkland & Ellis to show cause justifying the conduct of its lawyers.

Michigan's Republican House speaker will not allow impeachment vote against Gov. Whitmer

The Republican leader in the Michigan House of Representatives ended talk of impeachment proceedings against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Wednesday amid an ongoing debate about the governor's authority to issue coronavirus restrictions.
Earlier, three Republican members of the state House introduced a resolution for impeachment against Whitmer, charging that her executive orders were unconstitutional and accusing the governor of "using state resources to reward political allies."
"Today I introduced Articles of Impeachment against Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer," Rep. Beau LaFave tweeted Wednesday.
"The four articles of impeachment against Gov. Whitmer include failing to respect the separation of powers by exercising power granted to the legislative branch, violating the constitutional rights of the people of Michigan, issuing executive orders against the interests of the people and state, and using state resources to reward political allies," he wrote.

The Michigan Constitution's impeachment process is similar to how impeachment works at the federal level. The state House of Representatives would file articles of impeachment against the governor and hold a vote. If a simple majority of lawmakers votes to impeach, then the state Senate would conduct a trial. Two-thirds of state senators are needed to convict.
But according to House Speaker Lee Chatfield, a Republican, impeachment proceedings will not advance in the House while he is the leader.
"It's no secret that I have disagreed with this governor. I have debated a lot with this governor. I have many differences with how the governor has handled COVID. We have a time and place to deal with differences — that's at the ballot box. The voters of the state of Michigan will have a chance to choose in 2022," Chatfield said in a statement reported by WOOD-TV.
"Republicans are not the party of people who impeach just because they disagree with someone. We just saw that in Washington. We're not going to do that in the state of Michigan. With the facts that we have, the impeachment resolution is not going to get a vote on the House floor. It's not the right way to deal with this situation or this disagreement.
"The idea of impeachment would face another, likely insurmountable, obstacle even if it did proceed," Chatfield continued. "In the Senate there are 22 Republican and 16 Democrats. It would take 25 votes to convict. Even if the process was to make it out of the House, which it clearly will not, getting the votes in the Senate would be difficult if not impossible."

'Imagine There's No Countries': Biden Pick For Attorney General Advocates Fully 'Open Borders'
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, who Fox News is told is being considered to serve as attorney general in the upcoming Biden administration, once said that illegal immigration should be decriminalized. This is one of a number of radical stances he has taken on the subject.
Becerra is one of the individuals President-elect Joe Biden is considering to be the nation’s top lawmaker – along with Alabama Sen. Doug Jones and former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, Fox News is told. While other names are under consideration, the source told Fox News that Jones, Yates and Becerra are most likely to be appointed. Becerra previously served in the House of Representatives from 1993 to 2017.
If appointed, Becerra would bring a significantly different approach to questions related to illegal immigration, where he has long taken left-wing
positions – a sore thorn in the Trump administration’s side on the issue.
Last year, he told HuffPost that he favored decriminalizing illegal immigration ,a stance that is still a fringe position in the Democratic Party, despite its lurch to the left.
“They are not criminals,” Becerra said. “They haven’t committed a crime against someone, and they are not acting violently or in a way that’s harmful to people. And I would argue they are not harming people indirectly either.”
He joined a handful of politicians in the Democratic Party who wanted illegal immigration to be a civil offense, rather than criminal.
“If you call them criminals, it’s a lot easier to get people to turn against them than if you call them undocumented immigrants,” Becerra claimed.
However, a year earlier, he had warned of prosecution for employers who helped Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with its enforcement operations in the state – warning of fines up to $10,000.
“It’s important, given these rumors that are out there, to let people know – more specifically today, employers – that if they voluntarily start giving up information about their employees or access to their employees in ways that contradict our new California laws, they subject themselves to actions by my office,” he said, according to the Sacramento Bee. “We will prosecute those who violate the law.”
Becerra has been a strong supporter of DACA, and has taken a number of actions to keep the program, which protects some immigrants brought to the country illegally as children from deportation, even as President Trump has tediously fought to end it.
If he were picked as AG, it would be yet another sign of how the Biden administration intends to take a dramatic swing away from the Trump administration’s approach to immigration.
Biden has promised to take a number of aggressive moves, including ending the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), raising the refugee cap from 15,000 to 125,000, expanding the number of guest worker visas, forming a “path to citizenship” for millions of illegal immigrant in the country, and imposing 100-day moratoriums on deportations.

Attorney Sidney Powell COINFIRMS Alleged Dominion Servers in Germany Were Confiscated — VIDEO
Last week Rep. Louie Gohmert told Chris Salcedo on Newsmax that people on the ground in Germany report that Scytl, which hosted elections data improperly through Spain, was raided by a large US ARMY force and their servers were seized in Frankfurt.

We later posted more information we received from our source on this raid in Germany.
From our source: The US government, once they determined that this Dominion server was involved in switching votes, then the intelligence community began a search for the server and discovered that the server was in Germany. In order to get access to that server and have it available for use in a legal manner they had to have the State Department work in tandem with the Department of Justice. They had to request that the government of Germany cooperate in allowing this seizure of this server.
The appropriate documents required to affect that kind of seizure were put in place, signed off on, and it appears there was also US military support in this operation. The US military was not in the lead. But this helps explain why Esper was fired and Miller and Kash Patel were put in place — so that the military would not interfere with the operation in any way.
By getting ahold of the server they now are going to have the direct evidence of when they were instructed to stop counting. They will also discover who gave the direction to stop counting and who initiated the algorithm that started switching votes. The CIA was completely excluded from this operation.

UK To Ban Sales Of Gasoline Cars From 2030
The UK government will ban sales of gasoline and diesel cars from 2030, the BBC reported, citing Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The move is part of what Johnson has called a green industrial revolution aimed at mitigating climate change while creating new jobs. The plan will receive financing of $5.31 billion (4 billion pounds), which, according to critics, is nowhere near enough for such a large-scale transition.
The electrification of transport has been touted as a cornerstone of the world’s transition to a more renewable energy future, and many governments are discussing bans on gasoline cars in the not too distant future as part of efforts to secure this transition.
In the United States, California has been unsurprisingly the biggest driver of this change, with Governor Gavin Newsom announcing in September an order to ban all sales of new gasoline and diesel cars from 2035.
“In the next 15 years we will eliminate in the state of California the sales of internal combustion engines,” the Governor said in late September. “If you want to reduce asthma, if you want to mitigate the rise of sea level, if you want to mitigate the loss of ice sheets around the globe, then this is a policy for other states to follow.”
In the UK, there were plans to ban sales of gasoline and diesel cars from 2040, but the pressure to accelerate the energy transition has made the government move the deadline. However, plug-in hybrids will be excluded from the ban for five years before they, too, become banned.
Besides the strong push for electric vehicles, the ten-point plan also involves backing for nuclear energy, although no details were disclosed about what this backing will look like. Another focus was hydrogen and the rapid decarbonization of key industries. Under the plan, the government said, a quarter of a million new jobs will be created.

Britain’s worst paedophile Richard Huckle brutally murdered in vigilante attack
Richard Huckle, who was known as “Britain's worst paedophile”, has been murdered by a fellow inmate in a horrific vigilante attack.
A man tortured Britain’s worst paedophile to death as hewanted him to “feel what all those children felt”,a court heard today.
Richard Huckle, 33, who abused around 200 vulnerable youngsters, was allegedly killed “in cold blood” by Paul Fitzgerald.
The 30-year-old carried out a “prolonged attack designed to humiliate and degrade” Huckle at HM Prison Full Sutton in York in the UK in October last year, it was said.
Hull Crown Court heard how Huckle was strangled with an electric cable in his cell before a pen was forcefully inserted into his brain.
He also suffered multiple blows to the face and one to the kidney with his neck knifed with a shank made from a melted toothbrush.
Jurors were told Fitzgerald was found “straddling” Huckle, who was gagged and bound in a pool of blood.
An object was also inserted into him as Fitzgerald wanted to give him a “taste” of what he subjected his victims to, it was said.
When he spoke to the manager of the mental health team at the prison, Fitzgerald told him he “murdered Mr Huckle in cold blood” and would liked to have cooked bits of his body, it was said.
He also allegedly said his attack was “poetic justice”.
“This is a man who rapes and abuses children for fun. He could have killed them as well. I’m inclined to think he did worse than just raping them,” Fitzgerald added.
The prisoner also told the doctor he “felt high as a kite” after the attack and would “recommend it to anyone”, jurors heard.
‘HAVING TOO MUCH FUN’
“He said he enjoyed what he was doing to the body of Mr Huckle and that he would have gone on to kill two or three others,” Alistair MacDonald QC said.
“The reason he did not was that he was having too much fun with Mr Huckle.”
The prosecutor described Huckle as a “predatory paedophile” whose injuries showed “a form of punishment associated” with his crimes.
“This was a carefully planned and executed attack, in the course of which Mr Huckle had been subjected to a prolonged attack also designed to humiliate and degrade him,” he added.
Fitzgerald denies murdering Huckle but accepts killing him by reason of diminished responsibility.

General Thomas McInerney Outlines New Evidence Alleging Nationwide Ballot Tampering to Prevent Trump Landslide
During the program, McInerney outlined new evidence showing that Hammer and Scorecard computer software developed by the CIA in 2003 was used in a coordinated effort to stop a Trump landslide victory in the 2020 election. He added that these offenses would hold treasonous and would require major prison time of those involved and found guilty.

McInerney: Yes. There are 29 or 30 states that have it, John. And the fact is through corruption and a whole host of other means they have changed the code on this so that Biden comes out the winner. I wasn’t directly involved or looking into this. I’ve been involved with the program called Hammer and Scorecard which was a signals intelligence developed by the CIA back in 2003 that they have perverted, they being the Democratic Party.
Obama, Biden, John Brennan, and Jim Clapper and converted into changing votes as well. It was designed to change votes in foreign countries. The application is called Scorecard. Now, this is so widespread and there’s so much evidence that the Trump administration has gotten this matter of fact, they put out an executive order in 2018 that would apply to this, in September of 2018.
And I believe in the next day or two they’re going to present this data to the Supreme Court because as evidence by Judge Sullivan and what he’s done to Sidney Powell and General Flynn we have a corrupted legal system, judiciary. Parts of it. And so I believe that because it’s so widespread I was originally thinking we can prove through Hammer and Scorecard what states the overcount that they put on Biden.
I think that perhaps President Trump got 78 million votes. Biden may have been lucky to get 70. In any case, the fact is that this evidence is so clear as Sidney Powell is talking about and Rudy Giuliani that it’s going to go to the Supreme Court because you don’t have time. The 14th of December is a constitutional date as I recall.

Experts: Tens of thousands of nursing home residents died from neglect and 'despair' during the COVID-19 pandemic
Nursing home residents were 'plunged into despair by prolonged isolation' because of the coronavirus pandemic
Experts found that tens of thousands of people in nursing homes "have died from neglect and sorrow related to the pandemic," according to an eye-opening report from the Associated Press.
The report stated that there have been more than 97,000 residents of U.S. nursing homes who have died during the coronavirus pandemic. A nursing home expert analyzed 15,000 U.S. long-term care facilities and estimates that for every two coronavirus victims in nursing homes, there is a person who died prematurely of other causes.
The report stated that the "excess deaths" in nursing homes could total over 40,000 since March.
"Interviews with dozens of people across the country reveal swelling numbers of less clear-cut deaths that doctors believe have been fueled not by neglect but by a mental state plunged into despair by prolonged isolation listed on some death certificates as 'failure to thrive,'" the AP reported.
Nursing home watchdogs claim that they have been "flooded" with reports of nursing home inhabitants suffering from neglect, including people being "kept in soiled diapers so long their skin peeled off, left with bedsores that cut to the bone, and allowed to wither away in starvation or thirst."
The article featured several surviving family members of the victims who have died at long-term care facilities for alleged neglect. Barbara Leak-Watkins' 87-year-old Army veteran father, Alex Leak, went for a check-up in February, where he reportedly "had gone so long without water his potassium levels rocketed and his kidneys started failing."
Leak-Watkins, who is from North Carolina, said her father served in the military and always stressed the need to stay hydrated.
"The facility is short-staffed … underpaid and overworked," Leak-Watkins told the AP, adding that if the nursing home "can't provide you with liquids and fluids to hydrate yourself, there's something wrong."
According to his death certificate, Leak died two weeks later of lactic acidosis, a buildup of lactic acid that can cause liver and kidney damage, which can be fatal.
Donald Wallace, a 75-year-old living at a nursing home in Alabama, "became so malnourished and dehydrated that he dropped to 98 pounds and looked to his son like he'd been in a concentration camp." Wallace suffered from septic shock and had "E. coli in his body from his own feces."
"He couldn't even hold his head up straight because he had gotten so weak," his son, Kevin Amerson, said. "They stopped taking care of him. They abandoned him."
Stephen Kaye, a professor at the Institute on Health and Aging at the University of California, San Francisco, who conducted the analysis for the Associated Press, explained how the COVID-19 pandemic affected long-term care residents who weren't directly suffering from coronavirus.
"The healthcare system operates kind of on the edge, just on the margin, so that if there's a crisis, we can't cope," Kaye said. "There are not enough people to look after the nursing home residents."
The nursing home trade group, American Health Care Association, dismissed the AP report of tens of thousands of long-term care facility non-coronavirus fatalities as "speculation," adding that the "disturbing stories" are not widespread.

The 1990s was a time of immense suffering for the Russian people. As the impending collapse of the USSR became discernable, insiders such as Nikolai Kruchina, Viktor Geraschenko, and Leonid Veselovsky created a planning group to ensure the continued influence of Soviet-era officials by transferring Russian state assets to offshore shell companies and thus stripping the country’s wealth. It was whispered frequently among those circles that Soviet transport planes had been flying to and from Switzerland for months and selling off large amounts of gold. Boris Yeltsin announced his plans to privatize the nation’s assets and the real looting began.
During the privatization period, international capital wasted no time in opportunistically swooping in to take over Russian industries. The Clinton administration sought to redesign the economic policies of the nascent Russian Federation according to the Washington Consensus: privatization, deregulation, austerity, and the opening up of Russia’s companies to purchase by ultra-wealthy Americans. The close relationship with Anatoly Chubais allowed a select group of American investors to be on an inside track of financial dealings in the new Russia. One Harvard grad involved in this scheme was Jonathan Hay, convicted inside trader. He became senior advisor to the GKI, Russia’s new state privatization committee.

Michigan Republican who balked at certifying election results says Trump called her
A GOP member of the canvassing board in Wayne County, Mich., said President Trump called her earlier this week after she and another Republican on the board initially refused to certify election results showing President-elect Joe Biden as the winner of the presidential election.
Monica Palmer confirmed to The Washington Post that Trump called her on Tuesday night after she and William Hartmann balked at approving the election results. The two eventually relented and certified the results, but on Wednesday both Palmer and Hartmann sought to rescind their certification.
Palmer, who did not respond to multiple requests for comment from The Hill, told the Post that Trump called "to make sure I was safe."
“His concern was about my safety and that was really touching. He is a really busy guy and to have his concern about my safety was appreciated,” she told the news outlet.
Palmer denied that she felt pressured by Trump to reverse course after agreeing to certify the vote. She indicated the two discussed the results in different states, but "we really didn’t discuss the details of the certification."
Wayne County, a Democratic stronghold, is home to Detroit and voted overwhelmingly for Biden. The Trump campaign on Thursday morning withdrew its lawsuit in the state, saying that it achieved its goal of delaying certification in Wayne County.
But Michigan officials have said that Palmer and Hartmann voted to certify the results on Tuesday night and they will not be able to rescind that approval.
Hartmann did not respond to a request for comment about whether he'd spoken to Trump.
Still, Trump's intervention is the latest red flag in his attempts to undo the results of an election that he lost to Biden. He has spent the two weeks since Election Day sowing doubt about the reliability of the vote, attacking election workers and insisting that he won states that he did not win.
The president's scattershot legal approach appears aimed more at undermining confidence in the election than actually changing the results. Biden's lead in Michigan is more than 140,000 votes, and the Democrat leads in Pennsylvania by roughly 80,000 votes.

ICE targets aliens who failed to depart US voluntarily in nationwide operation 'Broken Promise'
WASHINGTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Senior Official Performing the Duties of Director Tony Pham announced Thursday in McAllen, Texas, an ongoing national enforcement effort called “Operation Broken Promise,” targeting for arrest and removal aliens who promised to voluntarily leave the country, versus face a formal deportation, but never did.
Since Nov. 2, ICE Enforcement and Removal (ERO) officers have arrested more than 150 individuals who failed to depart after being granted voluntary departure. About 86% of those arrested also had criminal convictions or pending charges.
“ICE takes seriously its obligation to enforce our nation’s immigration laws,” said ICE Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director Tony H. Pham. “Those being arrested in this targeted operation have broken their promise to the U.S. government, and we are enforcing the consequences of that dishonesty.”
Voluntary departure is typically requested by the alien and granted by an immigration judge, where the alien is granted about 60 to 120 days to arrange their own departure, versus facing a formal deportation and the barriers to readmission that it carries. Voluntary departures benefit U.S. taxpayers by lowering the costs of deportations.
When an alien fails to depart the country per the agreement, they become subject to a final removal order which is then carried out as a formal deportation by ICE. In addition to the barrier on readmission, an illegal re-entry after a formal deportation is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
ICE does not exempt classes or categories of removable aliens from potential enforcement. All those in violation of immigration law may be subject to arrest, detention and, if found removable by final order, removal from the United States. ICE takes many factors into account when targeting and arresting individuals, including their criminal and immigration history.

Pentagon senior adviser accused Pompeo and senior politicians of taking money and getting rich from ‘the Israeli lobby’
A new senior adviser at the Pentagon repeatedly said the United States’ support for Israel was the result of “Israeli lobby” money and accused prominent officials, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, of becoming “very very rich,” from their support for Israel.
Retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor, who was appointed as senior adviser to newly installed acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller this week, made the comments in two media appearances in 2012 and 2019.
“You have to look at the people that donate to those individuals,” Macgregor said in a September 2019 interview when asked if then-national security adviser John Bolton and Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham wanted war with Iran. “Mr. Bolton has become very, very rich and is in the position he’s in because of his unconditional support for the Israeli lobby. He is their man on the ground, in the White House.”
“The same thing is largely true for Mr. Pompeo, he has aspirations to be president,” he added. “He has his hands out for money from the Israeli lobby, the Saudis and others.”
An outspoken critic of American foreign policy and “endless” wars, Macgregor also said the Israel lobby has “enormous influence” on Congress and accused the lobby of wanting to instigate “military strikes” with Iran in a 2012 interview with the Russian-state media network RT.
“I think the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and it’s subordinate elements or affiliated elements that represent enormous quantities of money that over many years have cultivated an enormous influence in power in Congress,” he said. “I think you’ve got a lot of people on the Hill who fall into two categories. One category that is interested in money and wants to be reelected, and they don’t want to run the risk of the various lobbies that are pushing military action against Iran to contribute money to their opponents.”
Politicians in the past have been criticized by Jewish groups for linking support to Israel to money. Last year, Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar tweeted that politicians’ support for Israel is “all about the Benjamins.” Omar apologized for some of those comments, which the Anti-Defamation League said were “promoting the ugly, anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that Jews have an outsized influence over politics.”
Macgregor did not respond to requests for comment. The Department of Defense spokesperson referred CNN to a statement sent earlier this week confirming Macgregor’s appointment and that his “decades of military experience will be used to assist in the continued implementation of the President’s national security priorities.”
Bolton, through a spokesman, said, “I don’t respond to anti-Semites.” The State Department declined to comment on behalf of Pompeo.
Pompeo’s financial disclosures show he has not received money from pro-Israel groups in 2018 and 2019. Bolton’s disclosures show he earned thousands of dollars for speaking to pro-Israel groups prior to his appointment as the White House national security adviser in 2018.
Macgregor’s appointment as a senior adviser to the new acting defense secretary comes amidst a tumultuous shake up after the Pentagon replaced four senior civilian officials, including Defense Secretary Mark Esper, with Trump loyalists in the dwindling days of the Trump administration.

In a stunning reversal Wayne County Board of Canvassers Chairwoman Monica Palmer [affidavit here] and fellow GOP member William C. Hartmann [affidavit here] have filed affidavits rescinding their prior vote to certify the election in Wayne County, Michigan.
The two board members cite threats against their family as the pressure put upon them to certify the Detroit area vote against their original decision not to certify.

Cuban actress Broselianda Hernández Boudet found dead on shoreline of Miami Beach
A famous Cuban actress was found dead this week along the shoreline in Miami Beach, Florida, authorities said.
Broselianda Hernández Boudet, 56, was discovered unresponsive by someone walking on the beach near 79th Street and Collins Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, news station WPLG reported.
The body was later identified as Hernández Boudet, who was well known in Cuba for films such as “Habanera” and “Things I Left in Havana.”
Relatives said Hernández Boudet had gone out Tuesday night to purchase cigarettes, but never returned home, WPLG reported.
The actress was born in Havana, Cuba, but had been living in Miami for five years at the time of her death, the outlet reported.
The official cause of death hasn’t been released, but police said they believe she drowned, WPLG reported. No foul play is suspected in the case.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel mourned the actress Thursday on Twitter, sending condolences to her loved ones.
“Farewell to an exceptional actress named Broselianda. We mourn her early loss. Our condolences to her family and friends,” he wrote.

Nasdaq Buys Canadian Fraud-detection Company For $2.75 Bn
Nasdaq agreed to acquire Verafin, a Canadian financial fraud-detection company, for $2.75 billion, the companies announced Thursday.
Verafin, founded in 2003 in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, employs machine learning, data analytics and other tools to detect money laundering and fraud. The company's cloud-based products currently serve more than 2,000 banks and credit unions in North America.
Nasdaq said the transaction would strengthen its efforts to eradicate financial crime and money laundering. It cited a United Nations estimate that there are up to $2 trillion in laundered money flows per year.
"At the core of Nasdaq's mission, we champion fairness and integrity in the markets that we build and in the broader financial ecosystem in which we operate," said Nasdaq Chief Executive Adena Friedman. "Combatting financial crime is central to achieving our goals."
Besides strengthening Nasdaq's system integrity, the transaction will boost the exchange's software offerings to clients, Friedman said.
Nasdaq plans to keep Verafin's headquarters in St. John's and will support technology investment in the region, including funding a fellowship program at Memorial University, the companies said in a press release.

Report: Experiment shows that ballot signature verification has an 89% failure rate
Victor Joecks, a Las Vegas reporter, tested voter verification and found that ballot signature verification has an 89% failure rate, FoxNews reports.
Both state and local election officials assured the public that signature verification safeguards prevented someone from successfully voting multiple times.
Joecks experiment discredited that, he reports.
“I wanted to test the accuracy of signature verification,” Joecks said. “I had nine volunteers and what happened is, I signed their name as is appeared on the ballot, I took a picture of it, I sent it to them and then they copied my signature onto their ballot return envelope.”
Eight of the nine ballots went through.
“Signature verification, which has been built up as this infallible security measure had an 89% failure rate.”
Joecks experiment was completely legal and was simulating instances such as finding ballots in the trash and still submitting them.
The Clark County registrar, home to Las Vegas, said they don’t have anyone looking into voter fraud issues.
“Widespread fraud was certainly possible and the lack of interest by elected officials, by election officials is simply concerning and frankly, irresponsible,” Joecks said.

MS-13 Behind Voter Fraud Case in California
Prosecutors in Hawthorne, California are alleging that a voter fraud scheme involving two men trying to submit 8,000 fraudulent registrations to the clerk’s office involved the cross-border drug gang MS-13. The purpose appeared to be an effort by the gang to elect one of their cronies to city office.
Carlos Montenegro and Marco Arevalo pleaded not guilty to numerous charges relating to the fraud, including “eight counts of voter fraud, four counts of procuring and offering a false or forged instrument, and four misdemeanor counts of interference with a prompt transfer of a completed affidavit.”
Montenegro, who was running for mayor of Hawthorne, set up what appears to be a fake non-profit group, “Homeless Votes Matter” in July.

Montenegro and his accomplices began sending out the voter registration applications in July and continued up until October when election officials flagged a suspicious amount of ballots registered at the same address.
The prosecutor revealed the operation was being funded by notorious street gang MS-13 in order to place Montenegro in office so they could have an ally in the city.
Thankfully, the two crooks had no idea how registration verification works. They were easily caught and the registrations invalidated.

The conspiracy charge alleges that Montenegro submitted and filed signed nomination papers containing 41 signatures and addresses to the city clerk this summer and that just 18 of the names, addresses and signatures on the nomination papers were validated by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s Office.
The conspiracy charge also alleges that Montenegro was subsequently issued write-in candidate nomination papers and that he “submitted and filed signed write-in candidate nomination papers containing 32 signatures and addresses for fictitious, non-existent or deceased person” with the city clerk’s office.
Not very bright. He didn’t even know enough to use real people’s names and addresses on the nomination papers.
It further alleges that he and co-defendant Marcos Raul Arevalo “and other unknown co conspirators” used three post office boxes in Hawthorne as well as Montenegro’s home address “as mailing addresses for over 8,000 voter registration applications for fictitious, non-existent or deceased persons, that were submitted for processing to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s Office and the California Secretary of State.”
This was a wholly amateur operation from start to finish and authorities had no problem catching the fraud and the fraudsters. There are far more sophisticated efforts that are not as easily detectable.
The confidence level of many people in the ability of state election authorities to ferret out serious fraud is low. A congressional investigation would be too partisan. What’s needed is an independent panel of election security, law enforcement, and cyber experts to fully examine the numerous charges of fraud from the 2020 election to restore the people’s confidence in the electoral process.

OK, things are getting a little weird now.
One of my long held beliefs is that one should never cede even an inch to a liberal because said liberal will then try to take not just one, but all the miles. They come out of the womb overreaching.
I have found myself in a weird place since the election. Long before November 3rd rolled around I was writing and saying that the mail-in voter fraud fix was in and would be nigh on impossible to overcome. Since election day, I’ve been a fan of rooting out all of the irregularities and finding ways to fix them. I have not, however, thought that there was going to be a way for President Trump to overcome the Biden totals.
That’s largely because I have been around politics for a long time and I know how adept the Democrats are at gaming every part of the system. These are, after all, the people who’ve spent forever branding themselves as the party of the working class common folk all the while being in bed with wealthy corporate interests and academia. That’s a pretty nifty trick.
I’ve been straddling the desire to expose as many flaws in the system and/or the people running it and a belief that — for this election anyway — it still wasn’t going to go my way. A lot of my friends, colleagues, and readers have been exhorting me to be more positive but that’s not really my role here, is it?
Bear in mind as I ramble here that I am saying all of this not as a journalist. I’m a decidedly partisan, bomb-throwing opinion writer who’s merely tossing some ideas out for public consumption.
One of the things I was repeating in the few days immediately after the election was that I was having a difficult time believing that Biden over-performed virtually everywhere that he needed to while the rest of the Democratic party was severely under-performing, especially in House races. As I said often, none of it passed the smell test for me.
I’m not going to get into specific reports of irregularities here, my colleagues are doing a lot of great writing when it comes to that. Something did jump out at me as I was working on Thursday’s Morning Briefing though. It had to do with Biden’s ever-growing popular vote total.

President-elect Joe Biden’s vote tally is getting close to a record 80 million votes as ballots continue to be counted across the country, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.
Biden already broke the record for the most votes for any presidential candidate in history after he reached beyond 70 million votes as of the day following Election Day. The record was previously held by former President Obama, who received more than 69.4 million votes in 2008.

US Military ‘Concedes’ to 1,410 Civilian Deaths in Iraq and Syria During Operation Inherent Resolve
The US military released data to the monitoring group Airwars that provides geographic coordinates for publicly confirmed civilian harm events in Iraq and Syria during the US-led war against ISIS. Airwars published an interactive map using the data that details specific events of civilian harm.
The coalition, known as Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), has now conceded to 1,410 civilian deaths in its air campaign against ISIS, although the real total is believed to be much higher.
“We take every allegation of civilian casualties with the utmost sincerity, concern, and diligence; we see the addition of the geolocations as a testament to transparency, and our commitment to working with agencies like Airwars to correctly identify civilian harm incidents,” a former OIR spokesman told Airwars.
Airwars estimates that somewhere between 8,310 to 13,187 civilians have been killed in the anti-ISIS campaign from 2014 to 2020. The deadliest year for confirmed civilian deaths was in 2017 when at least 898 civilians were killed.
Earlier this month, the US military told Military Times that OIR coalition aircraft carried out 34,917 strikes in Iraq and Syria from August 2014 to September 2020.
