This story goes so much deeper. I relayed some of it yesterday while digging on Lord Malloch Brown. As the head of Smartmatic, 2008 was actually his SECOND time he was here affecting elections. The first time was in the 80s at the end of the Marcos era. He ran the strategy for the challenger, Cory Aquino. He used the same exit polling fuckery that we have become used to, and then controlled the reporting of it to select international outlets. Pulse Asia was in the article, claiming it was under his control tool. He recalled the scheme as one of his greatest successes, which is a little sick when you consider Marcos probably won that election. He was just 'out gamed' by the reporting, much what they are trying to do to Trump.
In 2016 Smartmatic tried but failed to get Duterte's opponent elected. But he won in a popular wave like Trump, by a margin higher than predicted by Smartmatic. As soon as he got in office, he started calling for Smartmatic to be kicked out of PH, since the fraud was so obvious. As of the 2018 mid-terms, they were still being used, and it should be noted that it seemed to benefit Duterte's people this time. Again, he gave Comelec a directive to get rid of Smartmatic before the '22 elections.
"Why Smartmatic keeps winning Comelec contracts" is obvious: someone is paying for it.
