Virgil: If You Liked the ‘New World Order,’ You’ll Love ‘The Great Reset’

Your Betters Think You Need to be Reset

By now you might have heard of the phrase “The Great Reset.” It refers to the “opportunity”—that’s the eager noun often used by would-be Great Resetters—presented by Covid-19. Yes, some think that we should look past the awful tragedy of the coronavirus and instead see great opportunity. That is, the opportunity for a Great Reset: The wholesale re-engineering of economies and societies, with an eye toward not only combating the virus, but also achieving other goals, notably, fighting climate change.

This phrase, Great Reset, originated with Klaus Schwab, founder and chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF). A Breitbart News reader probably knows a lot about the WEF, which convenes every year in Davos, Switzerland; as James Delingpole has written of these confabs, they’re a place where “billionaires go to lecture millionaires on how ordinary people live.” In addition, “Davos Men” and “Davos Women”—plus perhaps, others—gather elsewhere during the year, even as they produce a steady stream of “thought-leader” materials.

Just this past May, Schwab announced a conference with world leaders and luminaries—including Prince Charles, that well-known expert on everything—to discuss his latest brainchild:

The meeting will see various guests from the public and private sector make contributions on how we can achieve a “Great Reset” of our global economic system in the post-COVID era.

And in July, Schwab published a book, COVID-19: The Great Reset, in which he argued:

The scope of change required is immense, ranging from elaborating a new social contract to forging improved international collaboration. Immense but far from insurmountable, as the case for smart investment in the environment shows.

Since then, the phrase has gained steam. On a September 29 video conference with the United Nations, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared that the current crisis provided an “opportunity of a reset.”

Meanwhile, Time magazine published a cover story and special section entitled, yes, of course, “The Great Reset.” The magazine introduced the idea by explaining:

The COVID-19 pandemic has provided a unique opportunity to think about the kind of future we want. TIME partnered with the World Economic Forum to ask leading thinkers to share ideas for how to transform the way we live and work.

And then the reader was presented with 23 guest essays elaborating on the subject, penned by everyone from Tony Blair, the former British prime minister; to Kristalina Georgieva, the head of the International Monetary Fund; to Prince Harry and Meghan, the self-exiled Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are even more highly regarded than Prince Charles for their planetary problem-solving acumen.

As an aside, we can observe that while Time was once one of the most important publications in America, these days, the title—now a web-only portal—is of interest mostly because it is the platform for the politically active Big Tech mogul, worth $10 billion, Marc Benioff. So if a commoner wants to know what Benioff and his friends are thinking about, Time is a good place to find out.

With so much coordinated hype, it’s little wonder that mentions of the phrase Great Reset, according to Google Trends, have multiplied 100-fold in the past year.

Do Trump Supporters Live In An Alternate Universe?

On Monday, in her MSNBC show, “Deadline”, Nicolle Wallace said that “right wing media”, like Fox were creating an “alternate reality” for their viewers. Nicolle said, “You now have a true, a true alternate reality… I mean, they are pumping flagrant lies into millions of viewers. They’re interviewing lunatics..” Nicolle’s guest, the brilliant Al Sharpton (of Tawana Brawley hoax fame) said, “We’re now in a nation where facts don’t matter. You make up facts. And not only do you have an alternative reality, how do you debate someone that is dealing with a totally fictitious premise?

This talk of the alternate, fictional reality inhabited by Trump supporters has been expressed many times by those on the left. After the Nunes memo was released, exposing parts of the Russia Hoax, CNN’s Brian Stelter said that Sean Hannity was promoting the Nunes lies and he called the story an “alternate reality”. Stelter’s viewers knew for sure that Trump colluded with Russia, just like the honorable Adam Schiff said. Stelter was proud that his viewers knew the truth.

Regarding the current claims of possible election fraud, Stelter said, “This is not an alternative reality. This is a parallel universe of disinformation.” Other reporters have added that Fox is, “ presenting you with absolute utter lies and nonsense and conspiracy theories. … These viewers slash victims are not able to differentiate between fantasy and reality. That’s dangerous.”

It is instructive to make a list of ‘Things That Are True’, as asserted by the leftist media and contrast it with the ‘Delusions’ that are commonly held by the foolish Trump supporters.

Trump Team to Seek Expedited Appeal After Fed Judge Dismisses Pennsylvania Mail Ballots Lawsuit

While mainstream US media has projected Democrat Joe Biden to win the US presidency, sitting President Donald Trump has refused to concede, claiming massive election fraud due to an unprecedented amount of mail-in ballots.

Trump campaign announced on Saturday that it will seek "expedited appeal" following the dismissal of the lawsuit filed earlier in Pennsylvania that demanded to discard mail-in ballots in the state.

"Today's decision turns out to help us in our strategy to get expeditiously to the US Supreme Court", the statement by Trump's lawyer Rudi Giuliani and Trump campaign senior legal advisor Jenna Ellis reads. "We will be seeking an expedited appeal to the Third Circuit. There is so much evidence that in Pennsylvania, Democrats eliminated our opportunity to present 50 witnesses and other evidence that election officials blatantly ignored Pennsylvania's law denying independent review".

Giuiliani and Ellis went on to assert that this was "just an extension of the Big Tech, Big Media, Corrupt Democrat censorship of damning facts the American public needs to know". Trump's lawyers also expressed disappointment over their lack of opportunity to "present our evidence" at a hearing.

Trump's Pennsylvania Lawsuit Dismissed

Earlier in the day, federal judge Matthew Brann dismissed the Trump lawsuit, describing the case as "strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations", marking the latest failure of the Trump campaign to challenge the projected election results.

"…This Court has been presented with strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations, unpled in the operative complaint and unsupported by evidence. In the United States of America, this cannot justify the disenfranchisement of a single voter, let alone all the voters of its sixth most populated state", Brann's ruling added.

The judge dismissed the Trump action "with prejudice", meaning that the case can no longer be brought to court.

Separate Legal Action in Pennsylvania

Earlier on Saturday, Republicans Mike Kelly and Sean Parnell filed a lawsuit to the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania requesting to declare universal voting by mail unconstitutional and deny the majority of Pennsylvanian votes in the US election cast by mail.

A Democratic lawyer Marc E. Elias labeled the lawsuit "frivolous", prompting a swift reaction from Donald Trump, who argued that it is brought on behalf those "disgusted by an Election that is a fraudulent mess".

This is not at all frivolous. It is brought on behalf of one of the most respected members of the United States Congress who is disgusted, like so many others, by an Election that is a fraudulent mess. Fake ballots, dead people voting, no Republican Poll Watchers allowed, & more! https://t.co/mOGdSOeZW8

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 22, 2020

In a follow-up tweet, Trump doubled down on his claims that Republican poll watchers were "not allowed to “watch”, not even allowed in the counting rooms", again recalling "fake ballots and dead people voting".

Well, there were hundreds of thousands of votes cast where Republican Poll Watchers were not allowed to “watch”, not even allowed in the counting rooms. Likewise with Fake ballots cast and dead people voting! https://t.co/dqHIhObMLs
