This may be an unpopular opinion, but tax exempt status for churches is a terrible idea and always has been.
Every Bible-believing informed pastor in the nation knows in his or her heart how catastrophic for religious freedom a Biden or worse Harris presidency would be. These people closed churches at their first opportunity and would hand out abortions like pediatricians hand out lollipops.
But the tragic fact is that Biden could sprout horns and a spiked tail and the vast majority of pastors would only make careful veiled comments in their sermons about "being aware" and "making spiritual choices". The truly brave would dig out the "America is on a dangerous path" sermon and quote 2 Chronicles 7:14 until it was worn out.
Because if a pastor so much as utters a politician's name in a negative context they can lose their precious tax exempt status.
Because everyone knows that God will not provide for a church that can't offer its congregation a tax break for tithes and donations.
So the very people who can spread the warning are muzzled. Which was the intention all along.
