Just think 80 million moar Muslims for the EU to absorb kekeke

Turkey considers itself integral part of Europe, Erdogan says, calls on EU to grant it FULL MEMBERSHIP

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called upon the EU to abide by its “promise” and grant Turkey full membership. The ascension talks have long been stalled, while Ankara has had multiple run-ins with the bloc’s members.

“We see ourselves as an inseparable part of Europe… However, this does not mean that we will bow down to overt attacks to our country and nation, veiled injustices, and double standards,” Erdogan said on Sunday as he addressed members of his ruling Justice and Development (AK) party via a video link.

The president also called upon the EU to keep its promises and, ultimately, make the country a fully fledged member of the bloc. The statement echoed remarks Erdogan made on Saturday, when he claimed Turkey aims to “build our future with Europe.”

We are calling on the EU to create a closer bond with us, to keep their promise of full membership for Turkey.

You say you've only got one life to live

And when you're dead you're gone

Your family comes to your grave

And with tears in their eyes

They tell you, you did something wrong

Tell me who's to say after all is done

And you're finally gone, you won't be back again

You can find a way to change today

You don't have to wait 'til then

"You left us alone"

Tell me who's to say after all is done

And you're finally gone, you won't be back again

You can find a way to change today

You don't have to wait 'til then

Open Skies no more: US pulls out of Cold War-era deal that provided global security in diplomatic row with Russia

President Donald Trump’s administration has on Sunday withdrawn from an international treaty that allows countries to monitor military hardware build-ups from afar, accusing Moscow – without evidence – of breaking its terms.

The Open Skies Treaty was first considered by the US and the Soviet Union in the 1950s as a possible way to increase transparency around troop movements and the deployment of nuclear weapons. It allows signatories to conduct a limited number of mutually beneficial aerial reconnaissance missions in the countries that are party to the deal, which includes the US, Canada, Russia and most of Europe.

In May, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo pointed the finger at Moscow when he announced his country would seek to end its involvement in the treaty, claiming without evidence that Russia violated it. President Vladimir Putin’s government was presented with a set of new demands by US diplomats but refused them, calling them ultimatums.

As a result of the decision, the Americans will now no longer be able to operate unarmed spy plane flights over Russian territory, or that of the other signatory countries. They will also, in theory, be unable to benefit from intelligence gained from the program. However, there are concerns that the US will request aerial photographs of Russia taken by allies, while barring equivalent Russian flights over US military installations.

Experts in 2016: Hillary Clinton Should Challenge Results in WI, MI, and PA

A group of computer scientists argued in 2016 that Hillary Clinton should have challenged the results in swing states which could have tipped the election in her favor.

New York magazine reported November 22, 2016:

Hillary Clinton is being urged by a group of prominent computer scientists and election lawyers to call for a recount in three swing states won by Donald Trump, New York has learned. The group, which includes voting-rights attorney John Bonifaz and J. Alex Halderman, the director of the University of Michigan Center for Computer Security and Society, believes they’ve found persuasive evidence that results in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania may have been manipulated or hacked. The group is so far not speaking on the record about their findings and is focused on lobbying the Clinton team in private. …

While it’s important to note the group has not found proof of hacking or manipulation, they are arguing to the campaign that the suspicious pattern merits an independent review — especially in light of the fact that the Obama White House has accused the Russian government of hacking the Democratic National Committee.

Russia may launch pilot testing of its national digital currency in Crimea

The Crimean Peninsula could be the first Russian region to use the digital ruble, which may help local businesses to bypass sanctions, the head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, Anatoly Aksakov, has revealed.

Aksakov said he had already discussed the project with Crimean IT specialists, including its possible use for transactions with both domestic Russian firms and the external market. According to the official, this could become a way to overcome the restrictions Crimea is facing after it re-joined Russia in 2014.

The pilot project could begin next year, he said, adding that the specialists agreed to conduct the experiment.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Two missing computer hard drives containing sensitive nuclear weapons data from the Los Alamos National Laboratory have been recovered, federal authorities announced Friday.

The drives were found behind a copy machine in a secure area of the laboratory that had previously been searched, sources told CNN.

It was not known whether the disks ever left the building. Energy Secretary Bill Richardson said investigators are looking into "inconsistencies" surrounding the whereabouts of the device.

The FBI has examined the drives for fingerprints and they were to be examined electronically on Saturday to determine absolutely whether they are those that are missing, and whether they had been tampered with or the contents copied, said an official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Assistant Attorney General Makan Delrahim Issues Statement Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg

Assistant Attorney General Makan Delrahim of the Department of Justice Antitrust Division issued the following statement on his participation in the Robert H. Jackson Center’s virtual reading of Justice Jackson’s opening statement at Nuremberg for the 75th anniversary of the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg:

“I was honored and humbled to be a part of this project marking 75 years since the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg. Justice Robert Jackson, who was the Chief U.S. Prosecutor at Nuremberg and once held the position of Assistant Attorney General of the Antitrust Division, has long been a hero of mine for his boundless faith in justice and fairness. His work at Nuremberg showed the world that unspeakable acts of hatred will not go unpunished so long as there are good people willing to stand up for the powerless. In my role overseeing the Antitrust Division, I draw on this faith and commitment to justice to guide our work defending American consumers.”

Pompeo Meets Taliban Leaders Ahead of Planned U.S. Withdrawal from Afghanistan

DOHA, Qatar—Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held a daylong round of talks with Gulf Arab leaders and representatives from the Taliban on Saturday, conversations that come as the United States moves to pull its troops out of war-torn Afghanistan.

Pompeo met with the Taliban’s senior leadership as part of ongoing negotiations hosted by the Qatari government in Doha. Pompeo praised the sides for sticking with the negotiations that could see the Afghan government strike a stable peace accord

with the Taliban terrorist group after decades of bloody violence. Talks have been taking place since February, when the Trump administration first announced the groundwork for negotiations.

The meetings came just hours after mortars struck several areas in Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital—a stark reminder that peace negotiations could deteriorate at any point. The Taliban denied responsibility for the attack.

State Department Says Anti-American Educators Undermine U.S. Efforts to Counter China

New document lays out longterm strategy for beating Chinese Communist Party

The United States' ability to counter the rise of China is being undermined by anti-American attitudes in the education system, according to a new State Department report outlining a longterm strategy to compete with China.

The agency said Americans need to be educated about the strategic threat that Beijing poses to U.S. interests and called for government officials and the public to have access to English translations of Chinese Communist Party speeches. Such an effort, according to the State Department, could be undermined by high school and college systems that are hostile to America's founding principles and history.

"America’s grade schools, middle schools, high schools, and colleges and universities have to a dismaying degree abandoned well-rounded presentations of America’s founding ideas and constitutional traditions in favor of propaganda aimed at vilifying the nation," the paper reads. "In the face of these polarizing forces, the United States must reclaim its own legacy of liberty."
