I don't understand the need to distance themselves from what Sidney is doing when she appeared with them at the presser. I'm struggling to see the bigger picture.

For what it's worth. It is 11 Days after 11/11 and the anniversary of President JFK's murder. Something may be happening behind the scenes, in order to distract and confuse they've gone with this and it's worked.

Remember Trump operates following Sun Tzu, he's just drawn everyone out with that campaign statement. Everyone will be focused on that.
