This plot is essentially the Cecil Rhodes plan: for an Anglo-American elite to own and control everything, everywhere, and everyone; but with other territories in Europe and Asia folded into Rhodes’ conception of the unified Anglosphere. The Chinese think this is all about them - it’s not. They’re being used to accomplish certain intermediate objectives. Ultimately, they’ll get the chop.
