the square blocky patters work better than more "organic" patterns
its odd, but it has proven out over 10's of images
also
the grayscale patters seems to work better than the colorized patterns

first time tested posting it on facebook
literally the first time facebook has ever been exposed to this "image" signiture
within seconds it flagged me with pic related
so facebook has an image-to-text running (as has been stated by multiple anons)
and it works fairly well
going to try overlays now

and (perhaps obviously)
I resized the "height" of the square overlay to match the pizel height of the image I intended to overlay
and then I "tiled" it to cover the width
because obviously the image is a rectange and the overlay is a perfect square
the aspect ratio of the cubes is important
if they are too small or too big it becomes less effective
so, when you use the overlay
re-size the overlay so you use the "full" overlay in at least one dimention
and then either have the image clip it off, or tile the overlay over multiple times (depending on the image being over-laid)
