Can I just say how completely wonderful it is to see all the gorgeous dining things taken out of storage and USED for a formal state dinner?
Hussein and his icky communist wife let the White House go into disuse while they were there.
FACT: The beautiful china, the gilt flatware, the candlesticks, the linens, ALL of those marvelously elegant things have been accumulated over many administrations. I imagine the lovely Melania took careful time to investigate the pantries and storage areas to see exactly what was there, and brought it back out to make guests feel special and give this event memorable and special.
It would be illogical and pointless to virtue-signal by leaving it all in storage all the time, which is precisely what Michael did.

They are actually using the Clinton china tonight, at least for the service plates! The rest of the Clinton set doesn't have that wide gold band around the rim, only the service plates. Check the design etched into the band - at first glance, thought it was the Eisenhower set, but no.
