Sadly, I agree with you but I don't think we are trying to convince them.

My cousin won't look at facts / stats and only repeats MSM talking point to me.

The evidence is to prove - in the long run - the logic and justification that come with the hard, irrefutable data. Ironically, we are using SCIENCE to prove our case to the Inquisition.
