And how! In 1976 I sued my soon to be divorced from ex-wife for custody of our 4yo daughter. In the end I succedded where few men have in the state of Washington. Little did I know when I started out that it would be an uphill road against an alcoholic woman & child abuser! Women seemed to have extra rights that men did not. Funny thing, all it took to cause her case to fold was a little piece of paper found in her car by a friend of mine who was working on it, an unpaid restaurant bill for about $30. She had a great fear of being arrested, apparently. Her lawyer asked my lawyer to hand over that little scrap of paper, in return for them agreeing to withdrawing their objections to my claim of sole custody. She handed over my daughter the next day. I think she might have had 10 weekends of visits over the next 12-14 years. Some mother!
