Today there were 11 Special Elections in New York State. One of those races was for a New York State Senate seat out of New York City.
I don't know which is more shocking - the lack of voter turnout or the almost 90% of the votes that the Democrat got.
Total Registered Voters in the District = 164,717
with 212 out of 219 districts reporting:
total votes Democratic Party candidate = 2,729 (88.52%)
total votes Republican Party candidate = 72 (2.34%)
total votes Reform Party candidate = 219 (7.10%)
