It costs real money to find a personality that can attract a certain audience willing to tune in every day to hear what they want to hear. That audience is what drives advertising sales. It's as simple as that.
You see what's happening at Fox. Their management is giving new talking points that their audience doesn't want to hear, so they aren't tuning in. Also, it's as simple as that.

I wonder how auditable these machines are from the standpoint: are the original scans always available or once they are remarked, is the remark permanent?
