Constitutional legal expert Alan Dershowitz said President Donald Trump's election challenges in Pennsylvania are "serious."
During a Tuesday appearance on Newsmax TV's "American Agenda," Dershowitz outlined the two issues at hand.
"One is the fact that the courts essentially overruled the legislature and extended the time when ballots could be received by three days, and that raises questions under Article 2 of the Constitution," Dershowitz said, adding the second issue relates to equal protection in regard to how counties handled flawed ballots.
Dershowitz said it remains unknown how many ballots were segregated, but it is likely under the margin of victory Trump needs.
"We really don't know how many votes were not allowed to be corrected or were allowed to be corrected under the alleged violation of equal protection," he said.
If the court follows precedent set during Bush v. Gore, he said, "you can't have one rule for one county, and one rule for another county, without running afoul of equal protection clause."
He added legal challenges involving voting machines "lack evidence" at the moment.
And when it comes to Trump asking legislators to send different electors, Dershowitz said it has happened before in our country's history, just not in this century.
