CFIUS - Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States

Sidney Powell mentioned CFIUS (and spelled it out) to Lou Hobbs regarding Dominion / Smartmatic, so did a little bit of digging.

A useful dig would be to figure out exactly who was on the CFIUS committee while they investigated Smartmatic & Sequoia.

CFIUS is an inter-agency committee that resides in the Department of the Treasury and investigates foreign investments that have potential national security concerns. Here’s an interesting summary of it from Latham & Watkins: https://www.lw.com/thoughtLeadership/overview-CFIUS-process

In 2006, Rep. Carolyn Maloney wrote to Henry Paulson calling for an investigation of Smartmatic / Sequoia by CFIUS due to its Venezuelan roots and murky ownership structure. Her first letter was ignored and she followed up with another letter October 6, 2006 here: https://maloney.house.gov/sites/maloney.house.gov/files/documents/financial/acquisitions/20061006ElectionsCFIUS_paulson.pdf

The CFIUS investigation led to Smartmatic selling Sequoia Voting Systems in November 2007: https://maloney.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/smartmatic-announces-sale-sequoia-voting-systems

In June 2008, NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) released a document showing that the ‘sale’ of Sequoia was fraudulent and that Smartmatic still owned the software that counted the votes on Sequoia’s machines.

The report outlines issues with the malfunctions with Smartmatic software in the 2006 mid-term federal primary, a court fight between Smartmatic and Sequoia over a take-over by Hart InterCivic (haven’t dug on this company at all yet), and that Sequoia voting machine software is vulnerable to tampering, which led California to decertify Sequoia machines in 2007. Finally, it outlines ties to the Venezuelan government and Hugo Chavez.

Here’s the NIST Report: https://www.nist.gov/system/files/documents/itl/vote/SequoiaSmartmaticReport61208.pdf

So it appears that the Sequoia transaction was all a show and Smartmatic retained the rights to the actual software.

More digs needed on who was actually on the CFIUS committee that investigated Smartmatic.

Jose Alfredo Anzola - the founder of Smartmatic that apparently died in a plane crash piloted by a C_A drug trafficker.

WORLD EXCLUSIVE

May 7, 2008

by Daniel Hopsicker

One week after the crash outside Caracas, Venezuela of a twin-engine Piper Navajo (N6463L), an air of intrigue surrounds almost everything about the flight, including the plane's ownership, passengers, and pilot.

Woven into one small story about a plane crash in Venezuela that killed seven people are visible threads from two perennial American cover-ups: one surrounding vote fraud, and one covering-up the CIA's role in drug trafficking.

For anyone interested in the news that gets left out of the newspaper, its’ a Perfect Storm. The Mother of All Scandals.

The downed plane's relevance to the ongoing story of vote fraud in America involves the identity of it's passenger, Jose Alfredo Anzola, a 34-year old founder of Smartmatic, a Venezuela-based election company whose American subsidiary counted one in every three votes in the 2004 Presidential election, while engaged the whole time in heated controversy over allegations the firm counting America's votes had hidden ties to—of all people— Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez.

The connection between last week's plane crash and the ongoing saga of CIA Drug trafficking begins with 43-year old Mario Donadi Gafaro, the veteran drug pilot at the controls of the twin engine plane.
