They Are Developing A “Digital Passport” For International Travel That Will Show If You Have Been Vaccinated

International travel will soon look far different than it once did. Now that multiple vaccines for COVID-19 have been rushed through the development process, it is just a matter of time before they start being widely distributed. In fact, we are being told that the rollout for COVID-19 vaccines here in the United States will likely begin some time in the middle of December. There will be millions of people that will be quite eager to rush out and get injected, but of course there will be millions of others that never intend to get vaccinated under any circumstances. Unfortunately, those that choose not to get vaccinated could soon find themselves being unable to travel internationally.

For months, there has been speculation about the possibility of some sort of “COVID passport” for international travel, but now it is being reported that such a thing is actually “in the final development phase”…

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) said Monday it’s “in the final development phase” of a mobile “digital passport” app that would tell airlines if international travelers had been vaccinated against COVID-19. The app would help “get people traveling again safely,” IATA’s Nick Careen said in a statement, by “giving governments confidence that systematic COVID-19 testing can work as a replacement for quarantine requirements.”

Needless to say, the International Air Transport Association will be strongly urging all carriers to use this new “digital passport” in the months ahead.

But will the airlines go along?

In Australia, Qantas Chief Executive Alan Joyce has already made it quite clear that he expects international travelers to prove that they have been vaccinated…

“We are looking at changing our terms and conditions to say for international travelers, that we will ask people to have the vaccination before they get on the aircraft,” Joyce told Australia’s Network Nine television.

And Korean Air is taking a similar stance…

Jill Chung, a spokesperson for Korean Air, said Tuesday there’s a real possibility that airlines will require that passengers be vaccinated. She said that’s because governments are likely to require vaccinations as a condition for lifting quarantine requirements for new arrivals.

'It's a f***ing disaster zone': Texts between Elizabeth Holmes and her one-time lover prove they knew Theranos was in trouble as they continued to dupe investors, prosecutors allege ahead of fraud trial

Text messages allegedly sent between disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes and her one-time lover and business associate Ramesh 'Sunny' Balwani show the pair panicking before the blood testing company collapsed.

The messages have been included in a motion compiled by prosecutors ahead of Holmes' fraud trial, which is scheduled to start on March 9 of next year.

Theranos, a start-up which promised to revolutionize the healthcare industry by offering automated rapid-speed blood testing, was shut down in 2018 after the failures of the company's technology were exposed.

Holmes, 36, and Balwani, 55, who worked as Theranos' president, have both been charged with fraud, with prosecutors claiming the couple concealed shortcomings and inaccuracies about the company's blood-testing machines.

In a message sent back in November 2014, Balwani allegedly described one section of the Theronos laboratory as a 'f**kng disaster zone'.

The following year, as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services conducted a survey of the Theranos lab, Balwani purportedly texted a message to Holmes which stated: 'Our validation reports are terrible. Really painful going thru this process… Going bad so far. Pray.'

Holmes responded: 'Praying… Praying continually.'

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services subsequently reported that the lab posed 'immediate jeopardy to health and safety.'

Things began to unravel quickly for Holmes and Balwani, even as they continued to tout that Theronos would revolutionize the blood testing industry.

The company raised more than $700 million from venture capitalists and investors, and was valued at a whopping $10 billion by 2014.

Holmes and Balwani were charged with fraud in 2018, accused of duping investors and medical professionals. Both have pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Prosecutors want to have the texts included as evidence in Holmes' upcoming trial, claiming it shows that both she and Balwani knew Theranos technology was significantly flawed.

Former Acting ICE Director Says Mexican Cartels Are Celebrating Prospect of Biden Presidency

Former acting ICE director Tom Homan said on Wednesday that Mexican cartels are celebrating the prospect of a Joe Biden presidency, because they know it will be easier to cross the border.

Homan issued the warning about Biden’s immigration plans during an appearance on Fox News. He explained that there is already a surge of border crossings because they think Biden will be president.

“The cartels are celebrating what is happening in this country right now because they are back in business. The border numbers are already going up because they think Joe Biden is going to be the president and they are open for business and the flow has already started,” Homan said. “It’s a Biden effect. It’s already happening.”

Homan served as the acting ICE director under President Trump.

“President Trump, whether you like him or love him, he has been more successful on this border than any president I worked for, starting with Ronald Reagan,” Homan said

Pennsylvania Judge Blocks State From Certifying Election Results

A Pennsylvania judge on Wednesday blocked the state from certifying election results in the presidential race and all other races pending an evidentiary hearing to be held on Friday.

Commonwealth Judge Patricia McCullough ordered the state to hold off on taking any further action to certify the results of the 2020 election.

“To the extent that there remains any further action to perfect the certification of the results of the 2020 General Election for the offices of President and Vice President of the United States of America, respondents are preliminarily enjoined from doing so, pending an evidentiary hearing to be held on Friday,” the judge wrote.

“Respondents are preliminarily enjoined from certifying the remaining results of the election, pending the evidentiary hearing.”

Recall, the Pennsylvania Secretary of State on Tuesday certified the presidential and vice-presidential election and Governor Wolf signed the Certificate of Ascertainment for the slate of elector for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

However, Republican lawmakers late Tuesday filed an emergency brief and argued there was no need to rush because Pennsylvania certified election results on December 12 in 2016.

The Republican lawmakers sued Governor Wolf, Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar and the Pennsylvania General Assembly.

The Republican plaintiffs, Congressman Mike Kelly, Sean Parnell, Wanda Logan and others argued that Pennsylvania’s vote-by-mail measure, Act 77, is in violation of the PA constitution.

The Epoch Times reported:

“Act 77 is the most expansive and fundamental change to the Pennsylvania voting code, implemented illegally, to date,” the lawsuit, filed in the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, states.

“As with prior historical attempts to illegally expand mail-in voting by statute, which have been struck down going as far back as the Military Absentee Ballot Act of 1839, Act 77 is another illegal attempt to override the limitations on absentee voting prescribed in the Pennsylvania Constitution, without first following the necessary procedure to amend the constitution to allow for the expansion.”

The plaintiffs include Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.), Republican congressional candidate Sean Parnell, and Pennsylvania House of Representatives candidate Wanda Logan.

Marc Elias, one of the top attorneys leading the Democrats’ post-election legal battles, called the lawsuit frivolous.

Netanyahu, UAE Crown Prince nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed have been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize following the normalisation deal the pair signed.

"Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Lord David Trimble today nominated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the Nobel Peace Prize, together with Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince," the PM's Office said in a statement.

The UAE and Bahrain signed normalisation deals with the occupation in September, becoming the third and fourth Arab countries to establish diplomatic relations with Israel after Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994.

The deals have drawn widespread condemnation from Palestinians, who say the accords ignore their rights and do not serve the Palestinian cause.

According to Bloomberg, their nominations were put forward by David Trimble, the former First Minister of Northern Ireland who won in 1998 for his work on the Northern Ireland peace process, the prize committee is still required to meet to push through their nominations.

The winner, or winners of the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, will be announced in October in Oslo.

On the back of the agreements, Israel approved a mutual visa exemption deal with the UAE during a cabinet meeting on Sunday.

"This is the first Arab country with which we have signed such an agreement," Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said before the vote. "It will open and strengthen the ties between the countries such as the economic ties. I believe that the citizens of Israel and the whole world see the tremendous change we are making in our region."

Colorado County Refuses to Enforce Lockdowns as Civil Disobedience Spreads Across America

Colorado officials last week announced that several counties had moved into the “red level”—the second-highest measurement on its COVID-19 dial—and would be forced to implement new regulations on restaurants, gyms, and other parts of the economy to combat the virus.

Then something remarkable happened. Weld County, a county in the northern part of the state with a population of roughly a quarter million people, politely said no.

“Instead, county government continues to do what it has done since March, which is promote and encourage residents and business owners to take individual responsibility and make decisions to protect themselves, their families, their community and their businesses,” the Board of Commissioners said in a statement.

With a test-positivity rate north of 16 percent, Weld County’s infection rate is well above the 5 percent threshold the World Health Organization uses as a benchmark for taking proactive measures to limit the spread of the virus. Nevertheless, county officials enumerated what they would not do.

The county will not enforce a rule confining individuals to their homes for an undetermined length of time;

the county will not enforce a rule that states residents cannot have personal gatherings;

the county will not tell the school districts how to provide education to their students;

the county will not enforce a rule requiring a reduction of attendees in places of worship;

the county will not enforce a rule demanding restaurants close their indoor dining areas;

the county will not enforce any rule that forces a business to shut down or impedes their ability to operate.

Weld County’s defiance came just days before news broke that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is “furious” because a Brooklyn synagogue reportedly held a secret wedding earlier this month “with thousands of unmasked guests” in attendance.

“If that happened, it was a blatant disregard of the law,” Cuomo said in a briefing. “It’s illegal. It was also disrespectful to the people of New York.”

Reports say the synagogue, the Yetev Lev temple in Williamsburg, has been fined $15,000.

In Buffalo, New York, a protest of some 50 business owners (and supporters) at a local gym turned into a tense confrontation when a health inspector and deputies arrived (apparently after receiving an anonymous complaint) and refused to leave.

According to the Buffalo News, neither the health inspector nor the deputies would specify what rules the gym owner or those in attendance had broken. Authorities eventually left without issuing citations as protesters chanted “Get Out! Get Out!”

The gym’s owner, Robby Dinero, said the gathering was old-fashioned civil disobedience against lockdowns.

“It absolutely was a protest” said Dinero, adding that enforcement of restrictions has been “arbitrary.”

The defiance against lockdowns has been a long time coming.

The reality is, enforcement of social distancing regulations has been arbitrary. We’ve watched over and over again as politicians have flaunted their own orders without penalty. We’ve seen social distancing exceptions made when a political cause was deemed important or simply worth celebrating.

Fauci says he would 'absolutely' serve on a Biden coronavirus task force

Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious diseases expert, said he would “absolutely” serve on President-elect Joe Biden’s COVID-19 task force if asked.

“Of course, yes. The answer is absolutely,” Fauci said in response to a question during a C-SPAN interview Wednesday.

Fauci, who's a member of the White House coronavirus task force, said he has been in contact with Biden chief of staff Ron Klain, but added they have not discussed the “nuts and bolts” of the COVID-19 response.

“Obviously, soon, we will be getting the transition team and the task force to give them the information that would make their assuming the responsibilities easier and more efficient,” Fauci said.

Biden officials told reporters Wednesday the transition team would begin receiving briefings immediately on “all matters related to the COVID-19 response,” with particular focuses on vaccine distribution, testing and the supply chain for personal protective equipment.

“They are moving forward expeditiously,” said Kate Beddingfield, a spokesperson for Biden.

“Obviously, our teams have had a lot of time to work through the core questions that they need to pose and the pieces of information that they most want to have clear visibility," she continued.

The requests to carry out investigations into alternative scenarios of the crash were voiced during hearings in June. In early July, the court postponed its rulings on the issue.

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777, conducting flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on July 17, 2014, in the Donetsk Region of Ukraine, killing 298 people from 10 states. A Joint Investigative Team (JIT) was created to investigate the crash, including representatives of Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Ukraine. In June 2019, experts claimed that they had identified a group of four people, suspected of involvement in the tragedy. It includes former leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic militia Igor Girkin, also known as Igor Strelkov, and his subordinates: Sergey Dubinsky, Oleg Pulatov and Leonid Kharchenko. According to the investigation, the former three are Russian nationals, and the latter is a Ukrainian national. The court hearings against the four men began on March 9. Pulatov is the only one represented by a group of lawyers, while the remaining three are tried in absentia. The four are accused of delivering a Buk air defense system from Russia to Ukraine.

Russian officials repeatedly doubted the JIT findings, pointing out baselessness of the plaintiffs’ arguments and unwillingness to use conclusions of the Russian side during the investigation.

Cotton looks back at foreign policy decisions made during the Obama administration

President-elect Joe Biden’s appointments appear to signal a "return of the Obama administration's foreign policy,” which “had disastrous consequences for our nation,” Senate Armed Services Committee member Tom Cotton, R-Ark., warned on “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday.

Cotton, an Army combat veteran, made the comment two days after Biden announced a number of key Cabinet appointments, including Antony Blinken as secretary of state, Alejandro Mayorkas as secretary of homeland security and Avril Haines to serve as the first woman to lead the intelligence community, among other positions.

Describing his Cabinet appointments during an interview with “NBC Nightly News” on Tuesday, Biden said, “This is not a third Obama term because we face a totally different world than we faced in the Obama-Biden administration.”

“President Trump has changed the landscape,” the former vice president continued, before referencing the president’s foreign policy stance. “It's become ‘America First,’ which meant America alone.”

“We find ourselves in a position where our alliances are being frayed,” Biden went on to say during the interview. “It's a totally different – that's why I found people who joined the administration and key points that represent the spectrum of the American people as well as the spectrum of the Democratic Party.”

In response, Cotton pointed to former President Barack Obama’s memoir “where he says a lot of these people were responsible, for instance, for advising him to go to war in Libya, a war that's now in its 10th year.”

He called the war “a 10-year after-party that's introduced civil war and slavery and unleashed a flood of migrants into Europe.”

“Look at ISIS, the rise of ISIS happened after Barack Obama rushed us out of Iraq,” Cotton said Wednesday.

He also noted that Biden’s appointments are from “the same group that said that you could never have a separate peace between Israel and Arab nations without resolving the Palestinian question.”
