Trump said, and I agree from experience, that lawyers don’t necessarily want to win, they want to settle.
They get paid just as well to talk to the other lawyers and drag it out, then you finally have to step in and tell them what to offer, because by then the bill is already sky high and you can’t risk coming up with 10’s of thousands more and risk having to pay the other sides lawyer too if you lose.
Trump doesn’t have to worry about that, finding lawyers who want to win and don’t care if they piss off their fellow lawyers is rare but it seems this time he found the right ones.
