My grandfather was 26 when he married my grandmother who was 14.
Grandma was very proud of this, talked about it all the time. All the women/girls wanted him because he was single, owned a farm and attended church on Sunday.
My Great Grandfather approached him, discussed how "it was right for a man his age to not have a wife" and introduced grandma at 14.
