The Roman Catholic Church is a Satanic counterfeit of the true church of Jesus Christ. It is symptomised as satanic by its top down control of its adherents where the Pope and a priestly caste rule over (have control of) all followers through fear, evidenced by the use of indulgences and the spying power of the Confessional and the Vatican's Jesuit army to control the masses (pun intended).
This is what the Reformers protested about. They wanted a return to Biblical Christianity which denies the top down control of Pope and priests and instead gives every believer a bottom-up and equal call to service of his fellow man through the royal priesthood and sanctification of all believers.
