I think you can bring the wheel to a stop by being kind, and not "infecting" others with the hate you might have received in your past.
Think of those immunization animations where it shows how immunized people slow transmission. think of your everyday "mildly annoyed" conversation and state of mind many people have, which fuels the "beast".. because it catches people in a cycle of spite.
