In my experience whenever I seek God genuinely, I get a response in some way. This is my basic spiritual axiom. It’s hard to trust that the Bible isn’t corrupted in some way by man and/or translation. Also, even if it is, that doesn’t mean you can’t find the truth in it, the same way you can from any other experience.

Impossible to deny that this is plausible. You were killed if you weren’t a Christian in some areas. That could not be the Christianity that people would want to be defending here today.
I understand divide and conquer. My point was that I agree the Bible / the teachings of Jesus could have likely been distorted. Same applies for Islam I suppose as well, and any other belief system.
