Q had to use 2-3 year deltas because censorship would eventually, just as the climax approached, stop the signal… Q would be silenced, and we would not know what was happening or what to do next.

BUT, as the deltas showed, the events are taking place on the clock, and we are learning their comms before it’s too late!
